for those of you that dont own a home yet but already live with FH in an apartment....i feel like FH and I already have a lot of stuff..we have both lived on our own and when we moved in together we already have 2 sets of some things lol..(of course i want new stuff) but what i really wanted to know is...are you registering for things you guys will use now or will you keep it in storage til you get a house? like for example bedding...do i get bedding to use in our apartment or register for bedding i think i would use in my house that i dont have yet and probably wont have for another year and a half.
I already owned everything needed to maintain a home comfortable, but none of it belonged to FH. He wanted things that belonged to us. I donated all of my dishes and flatware, pots and pans etc. Now everything we have is ours, that was important to him.
We r prob going to store a lot of the nice things until we get a house!
I have been living with FH for over 2 years...we are not getting a house right away. I already have all my basics but I am registering for things anyway. I went for new bedding and curtains to use now and good set of pots and pans that we never bought. My china and stemware I dont think I will touch until we own a house.
i've been living with my FH for about 2 years now but we registered at macys and BB&B for things that we want but dont have and we also registered for things that we have and figured if we get it we will just throw out our old one :)
We registered for some things that we wanted to update or upgrade, hopefully people will see we didnt register for a ton & give us cash (lol) & then we gave immediate family other ideas like digital camera, camcorder, ipod docking station, etc. HTH
FH and i have lived together for almost 3 years! and when we moved in together we didn`t have a TON of money we got the basics and our parents chipped in and bought us some nice stuff...2 years in the 1st apartment we moved again and bought even more stuff so i thought what else could we need!! so we registered for the fun stuff that we wouldn`t buy ourselves....like and ice cream maker and i want a kitchenaid sooo bad but i wont spend the money so thats on there and stuff along those lines...we asked for towels because like morons we bought white towels when we moved in and lets just say there aren`t very white any more!! FH is constantly working with his hands or under the hood of a car sooooo yeahh not white! lol we asked for new sheets nice ones ya know!! hmmm i don`t even remeber what else!!! this should be fun when i have my shower!
we are registering for new things...and storing them until we have a new home..
