Registry

How soon after you got engaged did you start making a registry? And which sites are best for it?

We know we want one where we can put our honeymoon up as a part of it.. Any suggestions?

Sorry if this has been asked a million times before, FH and I just realized we get to go 'shopping' lol

Re: Registry

This is great! Thank you ladies!!! I'm happy that I still have time :)

One more thing!!! Is the registry for the engagement party, gifts in general or for the wedding? I'm only asking because my mom said that the registry gifts should be simply for the engagement and that (for when i go to wedding) still give a card with a gift inside while im there.

Just need some clarification - Thank you again!

Re: Registry

we did ours a month ago only b/c FMIL was asking us to do it b/c her friends wanted to buy us gifts for getting engaged. It was fun to register and even more fun to start getting gifts!!

Also, did you only do it online or did you also go into the store to check out the actual items?

Re: Registry

I got engaged in Feb and did mine in March....my wedding isnt until August 2011! I am glad we did it early bc we are not having an engagement party and people have already sent us gifts. The only problem with doing it early is that you should keep monitoring it as things get discontinued so you may need to update it.

I will probably do mine soon, we've been engaged for 4 months. My mom said to do it before the engagement party so that people can get you presents!

Re: Registry

I have already done mine. My sister suggested doing it early since we are moving into our new house this month. We left off the linens though because the lady at bloomingdales (we registered there and crate and barrel) said those items were most likely to change.

I definitely rec. going to the stores, you need to hold the silverware, lay out your plates with the the glasses, napkins, ect..Oh and I would totally recommend crate and barrel- they were the best!

Re: Registry

We got engaged the middle of July and registered in September. It was one of those things I wanted to do quickly. We didnt register for too much at that time, but got a start and little by little I added things.
