registry help!!

Most of my guests (all OOT people) will be/are giving us presents and not checks. My registry is basically all purchased with the exception of a few things that are over $100. And I know that non of the OOT people will want to spend more than around $40. I can't think of anything else to add. I don't even know if I need anything else. Anyone have any ideas for me? Im registered at pottery barn, crate and barrel, william sonoma, and bloomies. My mom thinks i should add stuff so people have options...

What about more bath towels? Or kitchen towels. Small gadgets for around the house?
Picture frames/books

Hmmm... I'd throw on some extra serving sets, vases, maybe some nice candlesticks, etc... even if you have already, something different and you can alternate with seasons/moods....

Too bad you can't emphasize to just get you gift cards and then you can go buy all the stuff you wanted!

Can you register for gift cards to those places so maybe they will buy you that? Then you can go buy whatever you want!

Add ANYTHING and then if you don't like it, just return it, but at least ppl can feel like their 'getting you something'

I was gonna say something along those lines as well.

Register for things you kind of want, but wouldn't spend the money on yourself... register for extra towels, extra bowls... stuff like that, and then if you decide you don't have room or whatever, return them.

Also, most places do let you register for gift cards. Some people think it's tacky but I think it's fine b/c if i were a guest i'd rather you not have to lug gifts home.

My mom keeps emphasizing that there's no such thing as too many towels and bedsheets, especially once you have kids. So, you may want to register for twin-size bedsheets to get a head start on that if you want.

Also, what about home storage things, like under-the-bed storage bags/boxes, or closet organizers? Wooden hangers, coat rack, magazine rack, umbrella stand? patio furniture?

Oh, and my SIL says there's no such thing as too many serving bowls and platters...I think I've registered for 10 serving platters!

I would add gift cards and things you wouldnt think of, but will need later, like photoalbms and picture frames. I know someone mentioned it before and its a great idea!!

Also some things my mom suggested that some people commonly forget is...

a table cloth ( if you have a dining room table)
A table protectant (its about 50 bucks and it goes on an expensive table prior to the table cloth for protecting the wood)
some candles - either for dinner or around your house.
nice home decour, like centerpieces...anything u might want to update

Crystal candlestick holders are always good too! Mine are like $40.

Re: registry help!!

In another registry thread a lot of people recommended an air mattress, and also folding chairs.

If you register at Bloomingdales and you return something from the registry, don't they give you store credit to use on anything in the store?
