after reading some of you got your 1st gifts I looked at my registries to update them, not expecting anyone to purchase anything yet and I found that one item was bought.
Someone bought us a strainer set from William Sonoma.. William Sonoma has a 'thank you' section where it tells you who purchased the gift so you can easily send thank yous. The thing is, the person who purchased the gift is NOONE we know.
We didn't really tell anyone where we were registered and have no e-party so I'm thinking this was a mistake. Do I call the store and have them fix our registry? Do I just put a 2nd one on? but then someone paying attention may think that we really rec'd one and why would we need two?
hmmmm..... strange!!!! Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Registry Mistake?
you're sure it's no co-workers, or any of your parents friends?
Hmm, call them and ask them to confirm the name of the person? See if you could take that item off of your registry but maybe add another one to be sure. That is strange though. But you know my mothers cousin who bought us that first gift acutally purchased some other couple a gift before us and sent it to them and then realized it was the wrong people so you never know, I guess this could happen, lol
maybe someone is buying it on a friend's credit card??

Re: Registry Mistake?
We definitely don't know the name, wet think we know all our parents co-workers and none of them will be invited to the wedding and our parents know that so I sure hope it isn't a random co-worker.
As for a friends card, maybe... it was bought 3/13 according to the site, if they were mailing it we should have gotten it I think??? Hope some other couple didn't get an item the didn't ask for!! Since the registry acts as a receipt they may not even have a receipt to return them!!
I'm gonna call them up tomorrow and see what the company suggests!

OK, I hate to be debbie downer but it could be a mean person.
ANYONE can find a registry, and buy something off of it. They can also have it sent anywhere. It is possible, they bought something off your registry for yourself.
What does this accomplish? It causes you not to get a gift, they get what they wanted, and get to laugh at you.
I could be WAY off..... but its something to think about

people may have changed thier name so you would not know who is was from, or maybe used another persons cc to throw you off ...
