I hear many differing opinions about registering for china. Some ppl say its a waste, 'you'll rarely if ever use it,' just get really nice everyday plates. Others say go for it.
What did you guys do?
(Sorry, I forgot to type the poll question but you get the point)

Re: Registry poll
We already have everyday plates that I have no interest in upgrading, so we registered for china, even though I probably will never use it!

Re: Registry poll
We registered for nicer everyday dishes. Personally, I have no desire to get china.

Re: Registry poll
We first registered for china..but seeing how much it will total to and how much what we really need would cost, I opted to just get nice everyday china..
Macy's even called to ask if it was an error...

Re: Registry poll
I registered for fine china. I look foward to hosting holiday dinners and such so I figure it will be put to use. Plus, I told my FH that we should also bust it out for a happy occasion or whatnot
I didn't register for everyday china.....FH and I already have plates that we got from Marshall's!!! lol

Re: Registry poll
foodie again.... of course we registered for good china, flatware, and crystal.... (see pics in my album)
we're all about celebrating life with a good meal and friends.... so the good china will get a lot of use!
(oh we did NOT register for everyday china.... the 4 placesetting matte black china-in-a-box from ikea suits us just fine )

Re: Registry poll
I say go for it - My mom just took the price tags off of hers but i feel it is something you will never buy for yourself !! At least go for Lenox - my grandma got me all of mine at the outlets for DIRT cheap prices. Who cares if you only get a plate a year! Maybe it will become something special in your family in the future!

Re: Registry poll
I did register for good china (white with platinum trim) and white every day dishes. I figured if I only get a couple of place settings of my china I can always mix it with my every day dishes.

Re: Registry poll
we're not the china sort, so we just registered for some nice stoneware for our dish set. we already have a complete set of dishes for everyday use, so these will be our special occassion plates.

Re: Registry poll
We registered for a full set of china ... actually for 16 placesettings instead of the usual 12 (I have a very big family).
China isn't something you're ever going to go out and buy for yourself. Let your friends & family buy it for you!!!!!!!!

Re: Registry poll
I registered for both.
China is pretty big in my family. My mom uses it for all birthdays, anniversaries and special events.

We will be registering for good everyday dishes and china. I figure if we don't get them now we never will.

Re: Registry poll
No one in my family has fancy china - nor in my FH's family. We registered for everyday plates and somer nicer plates (kinda like an everyday china) that we can use for nicer dinners. Our nicer plates are sold one place setting at a time like fancy china, but it's just more casual looking than china.
