Re: Rehearsal Dinner
I did.... just an fyi ~ I was a MOH last year and the bride wouldn't allow my FH (DH now) to attend. I was highly offended, as was he.

That's how I feel, but FMIL wants to keep it small and said only the immediate family and BP. I feel bad not inviting their husbands/wives/Significant others, but it's hard when you're not the one hosting the event.

We did.
I even invited my BM's boyfriend of a couple months even though I didn't really want to at first.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
We're not inviting the bridal parties husbands/wives/signifcant others only because we have a huge bridal party as it is (29 people). The only significant others we are inviting are his sister-in-laws, and my brother's gf, mainly because we consider these people immediate family. But as for our friends' bf/gf/husband/wives, we just couldn't do it. With our parents, my grandparents, the bridal party, and the sister-in-laws, that's 45 people!!!!
Every wedding I've been in, I actually was never invited to the rehearsal with FH, and I was ok with that. I feel it's become more of the norm to really just keep the RD to the bridal party. I think more and more people understand just how out of control weddings costs are these days. Plus, RDs usually aren't all that exciting, so many people don't care about going as much.
But there are still people who do get offended if the significant other is not invited. Maybe throw it out there to your friends how your future mother in law is paying, and she really wants to do a very small thing, so you're not inviting people with dates, and ask them if they're ok with it. I think if you at least give a warning about it, and explain the situation, people might be more understanding.

Very god point. I was thinking of talking to some of my friends to see how they react. I know most of them would understand, I just feel bad. But honestly I don't even know if some of them will be able to bring their significant others since they will be coming form work, so maybe they'll all be fine with it. I also feel bad for FMIL, I know we don't have a small BP so that makes it hard for her. ANd I do like the idea of a smaller gathering, more intimate.
