Rehearsal DInner?

Rehearsal DInner?

Is everyone having one? My sister and FSIL didn't have one and I don't think I am going to either even though I really would like to. I'm just wondering if people are going to expect us to or not. My parents have a tiny house so we really can't do it there and it's just not in the budget to rent out a resturant. How much should I expect it to cost?

A rehearsal dinner could cost about 1500 or so. Maybe more or less depending on what place you have it at. Think about it this way- do you want a RD? If so, have one. Just because your siblings didn't have one doesn't mean you shouldn't have one. If it's out of your budget then don't sweat it. But traditionally, the grooms' family pays for this.

I plan to do it at the restaurant I work at. I know they'll give me a deal too. It's in Rocky Point, which is close to our church and RH. I will have a private room, beer and wine, sit down dinner with bread, appetizer, salad and 3 entree choices. I expect they'll do it for me for around $20-30, inclusive.

FFIL's are paying so that is the only reason why we are having one. I would like a laid back dinner at my house but they insist on a restaurant.

Yes we are having a RD at a Villa. But in the smaller private room. We have alot of OOTer's we decided to invite as well. FIL's are paying for this.

If you want a RD & its out of budget why dont you do something a bit less traditional. Have it at home. Cook or order in chinese or something. Make a fun night for you & your BP!!!

we are having one too and FIL's are paying as tradition says...lol I have a large bridal party...14 adults and 6 kids so there was no way i was going to be able to NOT have one..too much confusion. My doc will be there to make sure everything runs smoothly.

I dont think we are having one becaue the FH and officiant arent doing a run through before and so the officiant is coming early the day of to go over it with everyone ... its only walking in and walking and the whole lasts 30 mins ... I think we are going to take our chances without the rehearsal and save money on no RD

I haven't decided on this yet. When I talked to East Wind about when i could do a rehearsal they said they do them either on wed or thurs - i'm getting married on a sunday. I don't think that i could ask my OOT members of the BP to come in that early. Might be something we'll consider down the road if there is money! Maybe just a dinner at a family members house since we're in a tiny apartment the night before?

We are definitely doing a RD. We are keeping it VERY small though, only the bridal party, and there significants and our parents.

If you want one - have it!! There are a mill ways to make it happen

I just went to one where they had it at a bar and had a few snacks, pitchers of beer out, and then if you wanted food - you just ordered it. It was fine and no one cared about putting out their own money b/c it was more imp just to hang and the couple was strapped for cash

was thinking about having mine at Shea Stadium - t(if there is a game that night) that way it could be an event for out of towners that would be fun and them combine with a RH b/c I don't actually think that we have to rehearse. (Not sure if this is fun or too low-key)

Oroginally we were going to just for the bridal party but most of the bridal party are part of large familes and we can't afford a pre-wedding lol

so we are having a sit down catered dinner and turning the backyard into something nice...I was thinking tulle and little white lights <3

Re: Rehearsal DInner?

Yes, I think we are going to have some sort of RD. We went to one back in July that was more of a rehearsal cocktail hour. After they had the rehearsal at the RH, everyone was invited for drinks and snacks at a bar. They rented out a small room and had open bar for about 3 hours. I think it might have been cheaper than having an all out dinner for everyone.

Re: Rehearsal DInner?

thanks for the input. FIL's gave us money towards the wedding they will not be paying for it. I think i might just skip it or do something small with the few OOTers that we will have (my mom's family). Fh's family and parents live an hour away so i dont want to make everyone go back and forth the day before the wedding. I guess its something I can decide closer to the date.

We're having the ceremony at the RH so there's gonna be a quick run thru the morning of, so no RD for us. What I figured we'd do is take the BP and their spouses/sig others out for brunch the weekend before. Just to say thank you and do the BP gifts.
