Sooo, my fmil has been planning out the RD and plans on inviting all of the bridal party with a guest, meaning their bf or gf (none of which are in the bridal party). Now my mom thinks its wierd to invite them with a guest, because she believes that they have no importance in the wedding and that it can be a time where the BM's and ushers can get to know each other since theyll be walking together and stuff.
Now I have no clue what everyone is doing these days. Are you inviting your bridal party with a guest to the RD, or is it just for the BP? Ahh help!!

Apparently, everyone and their brother is invited to these things nowadays.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Drama
We invited the BP and if they are in a serious relationship...not some fly by night, we invited their significant other...but we also did just word of mouth, we didn't send out invites...LOL that's how us people do!

Yes, everyone is the BP and guest. What about if their married? It would be tacky to invite them without their spouse. JMO

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Drama
I was just planning on inviting the BP. All of the GM do not have gfs and while my friends are in serious relationships, none of them are engaged let alone married.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Drama
It looks like I'm having a 70 person rehearsal dinner, so I'm no help here!
I think the BP should be invited with guests ... especially if you have some that are married or some who are OOT, you shouldn't invite some with guests and some without ....

yep it's true... my cousin's rehearsal dinner had upwards of 60 people!
ours, not so much.... our WEDDING has under 70 coming... and the rehearsal dinner is restricted to those who will be rehearsing!
oh, and it will be at our apartment.... and we're cooking

We are doing the same-- in terms of WHO is invited-- however, we are sending out actual invitations-- but as for guests: it's everyone in the BP, the readers, people involved in the Mass and their SO's if they are in a SR.

We are inviting the BP with their significant others if they were serious and we knew them. We DID NOT want to invite everyone and their mom

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Drama
We're inviting everything with a guest (I would never invite the married ones w/ their spouse & the others w/o their significant other or a guest). But I know the single pp in the BP wouldn't bring a random guest to the RD.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Drama
Thanks for everyones input,,, one GM in my bridal party is married, and the rest are pretty much all in a serious relationship. I know them all,,, but they dont all know each other! Either way, I dont mind inviting them with a guest at all,,,but I had my Fmil saying one thing and my mom saying another,,and I just was unsure of the whole etiquette part of it. My FMIL is throwing it,,so I was totally fine with doing whatever she wanted!!! My mom will just have to suck it up if she feels that strongly about it!!! Thanks for all your help!!!!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Drama
We invited BP and their SO if they are married or engaged. If it's someone they've been dating for like 2 months, they weren't invited. We have 20 people in our BP, that would have been 40 if they were all invited w/ a guest. Let alone family members etc.

we're inviting bridal party and guests(but most of them are married so we have to invite spouses) and then out of town family.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Drama
we had the BP and a guest (as long as the guest is on the invite list for the wedding)
