Rehearsal Dinner Poll

Rehearsal Dinner Poll

I know it's early but, it occured to me we might have some issues with early holiday parties that have been scheduled far in advance.

Anyway, our church is in the town of Huntington and our guests are staying in Hauppauge (near reception).

Where would you have the rehearsal dinner, Huntington, Hauppauge or in between?

Also, if you have any suggestions of restaurants?

TIA!

If you end up choosing Hauppauge, we had our RD at Pomodorinos and it was excellent and not expensive! GL!!!

not to confuse you but there is a Pomodoro's in Huntington too on RT. 25. They are the same and both have great food. The one in Huntington is smaller though.

Definitely closer to the hotel so that afterwards everyone can get home quickly and crash so that they will be ready for the big day!

How many days in advance will your RD be? We had ours on a Tuesday, b/c this was the only day the Church allowed us to. I would say Huntington if it is not the night before.

I say do it near the church. not everyone will stay at the hotel and it will be more convenient to have it by the church

It is the night before. I'll be spending the night in Huntington, along with my family and some of the BM's but, FH, some BMs, GM, and FH's family will be in Hauppauge.

Ahhh then I would stay closer to the Hotel It might be harder for alot of teh OOT guests to travel & not know the area & such.

Is there a place in between that you know of & like?

We had the same exact problem. Our church was in South Huntington (St. Elizabeth's) and people were staying in Hauppauge (at Islandia Marriott). We had the RD at the Bonwit Inn in Commack. It was right off of the Northern State. It was perfect for everyone, very easy to get to, and the food was good. I was happy with our decision.

Seems like most people on this board are from either Suffolk county or the edge of Nassau/Suffolk.

What about us Great Necker's and Queenser's... now I cry

anywhere that's on their way home for the night. as long as it's not out of the way, i'm sure no one can complain. well, hopefully not.

I think it should be closer to the church.. especially if its in the Village. there are so many nice restaurants to have the RD. And when you think about it.. Huntington isn't THAT far from Hauppauge.

In between

I think it depends on your guests. If the majority of them are staying at the hotel, I would do it by the hotel. That way if they are having cocktails it's not too far of a drive.
