Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

How much is everyone paying for Rehearsel Dinner per person? And does it include alcohol? I need some suggestions for places to have my rehearsal dinner near Smithtown and please include price if you know it. Thanks in advance!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

I am in Nassau, but I am also up to this detail. I think most tend to be towards $27-30+ that include alcohol.

For some reason, I keep coming back to the Ground Round for price and what you get ($27.95 pp incl. alcohol). It isn't a fancy place, but it isn't a dive either. I am not interested in impressing with the rehearsal dinner...it is all family and very close friends, and they really don't care where it is. Many even asked if they still do it! I guess now with halls and no rehearsals, it is starting to be less of a necessity.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

I think the rehearsal dinner has become more of a 'getting to know' each other kind of event. It is an opportunity for toasts and intimacy amidst the whirlwind of the big day.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

We're paying $26.75 pp. That's includes all liquor and beer. It's at Bruno's in Ronkonkoma. It's an Italian Restaurant and bar.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

Does anyone know a Rehearsal Dinner place near or around Hicksville? Where is that Ground Round?
I come from out east in Suffolk but the Wedding is in Hicksville so I really don't know to much that way. I have to start working on this, it is about two months away!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

Cooky: The Ground Rpund is on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. It is right off the Wantagh Parkway. You might want to try Domenico's it is right up the block in the King Kullen shopping Center. Good Luck!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

Hi Cooky! I know a few places in Hicksville you could try: Peppercorns( that's by the Firehouse), Wicks( that's on Old Country Road), The Miller Ridge Inn (on 107), and Kenny's Cafe( on South Oyster bay road). I'm sorry I don't have prices for you I've just started looking around there myself. Let me know if I can help. Oh by the way, I think the Ground Round at the Mall closed years ago its a Boulder Creek Steak house now.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

I am thinking of doing something fun for my rehearsal dinner. I am leaning towards going to Jillian's (location in Westbury and Farmingdale) and renting a few pool tables and/or virtual bowling lanes. The prices are very reasonable. Check out their website at www.jillians.com. If you fill out an information form on the website they will e-mail you a price list with different options.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

There are several places in Smithtown and the surrounding areas that are pretty reasonable. I know there is a Chinese Buffet restaurant on route 111 in Smithtown that has a private room - They do a lot of showers there. There is also a restaurant named Polini's on route 347 in Hauppauge/Smithtown. It is an Italian place and they are really nice there. My future sister-in-law had her son's baptism party there on a Sunday afternoon for $14 pp. Mario's in Setauket on 25A has a private room too. You can get a dinner there starting at $16pp. Also there are several places down in Port Jefferson village that are really nice - They may be a little more expensive though. I would check out the Printer's Devil. Hope this helps -

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

Try Wickers right on Old Country Road. Their food is pretty good and I think they're reasonably priced.

My friends threw me a surprise party there a few years ago and everything was fine.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

I went to The Printer's Devil in Port Jeff and they priced me $29 (or about) not including alcohol or soda! And I had to guarantee 35 people on a Friday or Saturday. And then on the catering menu it said $6.95 for a pitcher of soda!! I am sorry but I think that is ridiculous. The place is cute and the location is beautiful but I thought their catering prices were a little outrageous while their regular menu seemed reasonable.

I am going to check out Mario's as well, the food there is VERY good and they do have a room on the side for private parties.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

Meg...I know! I couldn't believe it either, granted the place was adorable with the glass separate room (honestly I didn't know they were there, Stef28 told me about it) but I thought overpriced. I haven't been to any other place though either and I still think they were crazy. I am looking for simple and not too expensive even if my FMIL is paying!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

Stacey - I think you'll be happy with Marios. You're right - the food is great and they are really affordable. You get so much more for your money there. Who cares if it isn't as cute?! It's not the wedding reception or anything, right?
I'm not sure what kind of food you're looking for but I recently heard that Z-Pita on Main Street in Pt Jeff (sort of greek/italian fusion type food - hard to describe) does private parties now. I'm not sure how expensive they are though.
Good luck with your planning -

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

polinis and marios sound like a much better deal, thanks for that info I will definetly look into those when my time comes because approx 30pp is alot when I add up my big family and big bridal party 15pp is so much better.

BTW rehearsal dinner should be close to church not near reception hall right, im pretty sure you dont even have to go to the receptin hall but just makin sure.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

Meg...I agree with not having the cutest place either, it isn't the wedding and shouldn't have to compete with it!

We are just doing dinner since we don't really need a rehearsal, we are getting married at the same place we are having the reception.

Good luck with your planning too!!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

Harborside in Patchogue (main street) had good prices..I think it was 17.95 per person with 4 dinner choices. I dont think that included drinks though. Also you might try the Landmark Cafe in medfor (route 112) I think they had prices in the low 20's per person.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Pricing

If you are having your ceremony at a church, the rehersal dinner should be close to the church. You almost positively won't have to go to the reception hall.
