How much is it going to cost do you think? How many people are supposed to be invited and do you think we could do this at our home?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Question -
I think cost really depends on how many people you have and how fancy it is . I know people who have gone all out. . drinks/dinner at fancy rest and others who have done barbecue type things at home. . same thing with who to invite. .
standard is bridal party, closest family, and some people do OOT guests since they are travelling. .

It depends how many people are in your bridal party. We had 32 in our bridal party so ours ended up being like 75 people...yeah i know lol. We had our parents, groom's grandmother was invited but was too ill to attend, our bridal party, their significant others, our readers and their spouses, and our deacon and his wife. We didn't invite oot guest like some do because ours was 8 days before our wedding but if it is the night or 2 before, i know most invite their oot guests. As for doing it at home or the cost, once again, it depends how many people you have and the size of your home. We did ours in a room in our town's firehouse. My mom, MIL cooked and we ordered heroes and a cake. We also hired servers so we didn't have to do anything. We brought all of the alcohol in.

It can be as crazy or casual as you want it to be. I'm considering a Family Style Italian restaurant on a Wed or Thurs night. They will prob work with you better with a pre-fixe menu.

We're having it at a restaurant...FH's parents are hosting the dinner. We're inviting everyone in the bridal party, Grandma's, and anyone doing a reading at the church. There's going to be around 37 people. I didn't think we would have that many but, it adds up!

We are planning on doing it a restaurant (we are going for dinner there next month ) We are inviting bridal party and their significant others and very close family. We counted we have almost 50 people (Yikes!). I hope it does not cost that much!

I think it can be as big or as small as you want it to be. We will be having the Bridal Party & close family members. Or so I think. Once my parents get involved in planning things, they usually turn out to be crazy grand scale things. Ex: We were going to have a 60 person E-party, my parents got involved in the planning and 120 have been invited. I'm OK with this though LoL
You can have it wherever too... we'll probably do it at the hotel where everyone is staying. If your home is large enough to accommodate all your guests, I think that's a totally fine idea!

Do you have a large bridal party? If it is on the smaller side, I think you can definitely have it at your house. It doesn't need to be a huge thing, just a nice get together and a token of your appreciation for all those involved. You only have to invite the people directly involved in the ceremony, so it doesn't have to be too many people.

I don't see anything wrong with having it at home. I have been in a BP where the RD was at the house and food was catered.
We have about 35 people-bridal party and immed family. We thought of doing a bbq or something casual at the house, but because we weren't sure where to put everyone if it rains, decided to do it at a restaurant.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Question -
depends what you want, like open bar etc. The BP and I think thier dates, and immediate family.
At your house def bc it will make it more relaxed atmosphere to mingle with the guests.
