Sole in Oceanside has REALLY good food and a private room.

I second Sole.

Hmm. . .there's La Piazza in Merrick, and there's another Italian restaurant with a private room on Merrick Road in Oceanside--huge portions, went there for my union tenure dinner three years ago. . .blanking on the name.

Check out RVC as well--RJ Daniels (outdoor patio/bar and a private room, I believe), Madison Hall, Blue Moon. . .endless number of places.
