Rehersal Dinner Help

More than 75% of our guests will be coming in from out of town, so we want to have a big rehersal dinner & invite everyone the night before the wedding. We'd probably have almost 100 people at the rehersal dinner -- but we can't afford to spend a fortune. Is anyone else doing something like this? If so, where? Thanks so much.

Rehersal Dinner Help

I think it is a really nice gesture. I also have a lot of out-of-town guests. However I have read that sometimes doing this large of a rehersal dinner takes away a lot from the wedding. But if you really want to spend this type of money and invite everyone you could have the dinner at the hotel where everyone is staying. the hotel can arrange a pre-set menu in one of their dinning areas for you.

Rehersal Dinner Help

MY FMIL wants to do that, yet it will be july 4th 2002 and she still hasen't booked.. argh! Well anyways it could have been simple and just our bridal party and dates, and our AF saber guys.. but no she wants to invite all the out of towners which basically happens to be her entire family.. which she is complaing it will be expensive but tends to forget my mom and dad have all of them plus our side and favors and what not.. argh!! Well anyway, it will most likely come down to us just getting the confrence room in our hotel and having a buffet caterered in, plus they own a bar back in their home state and will bring there own beer and wine .... So all of them can drink and walk 100 yards and pass out..

A suggestion....

Chinese restaurants are always cheap. It's around $20 a person, which isn't bad for all the food they give you. Try 'The Orchid' in Garden City. Their food is great! Lisa
