Related to BM dress....

Original post by pmnkm

Do you think $265 is too much for a BM dress? (Before tax and alterations) I absolutely love the dress we picked and all the girls love it but I feel like some of them may/are ticked at the price tag. Have any of you encountered this? How did you deal with it? I am thinking of offering to pay for part of everyones dress to make it a little easier. It's not like I set out to pick an expensive dress it just sort of happened! Any ideas?

Also I just wanted to add,
I did offer each girl to pay for part of the dress. Although none accepted I think it at least made them understand that I am concerned and genuine and I am not just trying to get them to spend their money. If I were to go back and change what I did I would have asked them individually what they would feel comfortable paying for their dress and see what they said.

It was nice of you to ask them individually. I am glad everything worked out.

My girl dresses were like $220, but some had to pay $270 due to extra sizes. I felt like it was a lot, but they all said their main concern was too look good and they were okay with it.

When I first found the dress I wanted, the woman was going to charge the girls $250 w/o alterations. Alterations were another $50. I felt really bad asking any of the girls to pay that much but I also loved the dress. I called soo many places until I found Burton's which sold the same exact dress for $135. We just ordered them. If you do some research you can find the dress at a cheaper price, if you really love it. Good Luck
