This may be a little personal but did any of you and your FH fight about stupid wedding crap or was he just totally ok with everything you picked?

Re: Relationships
hahaha ..we're already fighting! Not really fighting, but we have differences. his family never had china of any kind. Casual for them is paper and 'formal' is Corelle, so it took him a long time to get his mind around the idea of china, and just little stuff like that. And since he's jewish and I'm catholic, we've got a lot of argument over ceremony and location, etc, etc. And he's pretty adamant about certain things..like we tried a cake from a vendor and he thought it was terrible and wouldn't let it go..

Re: Relationships
we dont really fight about wedding stuff... he agrees with most things.. but there are some things that he dosent and hes not shy about it. I try to pick my fights - I let him win on things that arent SO important to me.. and something that is the most important to me.. like the pictures.. he left COMPLETLY up to me. We mostly fight about how he dosent ever do anything wedding related.. but since the one year mark was approaching he has really done a turn around!!

Re: Relationships
The only thing he gets mad at is when I make a decision and tell someone in my family and then want to change my mind. He keeps telling me this is my wedding and no one is to tell me what to do. BTW, this includes his family too. Other than that he is so good he goes along with everything.

Re: Relationships
My fiance wants a say in everything! And since he's the one that's good with numbers and handles the wedding budget, he is ALWAYS saying no to anything that may be more than the bare minimum! When I told him prices for photographers, he was like NO WAY are we paying over $4k for pictures! So of course, that turned into an argument...then I wanted chair covers....and that was an argument...then I wanted a percussionist...and that turned into an argument...anything 'extra' But you know what? If I REALLY wanted chair covers and a percussionist THAT bad, I would have one! LOL. He knows when I put my foot down there's no talking me out of it!

LOL, sounds like my Dad! Although, He even says Corelle is casual. But he doesn't want any patterns on it.

Re: Relationships
i wanted to kill him at times but it worked out. you realize its just the stress your both under and with my dh he let me do all the planning and only picked the hall. but i would make the choices and since he wasnt there would be the great debate later on on why i picked what i picked.

Re: Relationships
My FH has been involved in all the big descions, hall, dj, photographer etc.. Except the flowers and all the little things, its pretty much whatever makes me happy the only thing he asks is how much.

Re: Relationships
I think everyone argues about wedding stuff. Most FHs say they don't care - choose whatever you want. BUT - if you choose what they don't like, then they say something. I think we argued most about the reception hall since we had such different ideas about what we wanted.

Re: Relationships
OMG, DH & I had so many 'discussions' about the wedding. We 'discussed' the flowers for two solid months and I can still get riled up about the menu cards I wanted. I won with flowers and lost the menus

Re: Relationships
If I didnt make phone calls, schedule appts, book places, it wouldnt get done. I give FH a list of two or three things that need to get done, not too much, because one phone call a day is a huge deal.

Re: Relationships
we've had some arguements...like I wanted programs but he thought they were hokey so we skipped them. I wanted napkiins, so I bought them. I picked the invites....he didn't care really....he only wanted an opinion on certain things that he thought mattered and seemed significant to him.

Re: Relationships
No, we don't really fight over wedding stuff ever. Actually, we don't really argue at all, but he's just so damn agreeable, so where's an argument going to come from? The best advice I ever got from this board was to A) establish a budget from the get go, B) ask him what he does not want to be involved with regarding the wedding, and what he is most interested in and C) together, make a list in order of most important to least important of wedding details with a rough estimate of how much of your budget is going to it. So our list was kind of like this: DJ-1500 Photography-4,000 Flowers-3000 Video-1000 Limos1000
Anyway, this saved us much aggravation so far. Hope it helps someone else!

Re: Relationships
Our only problem is the pre cana and the the decision to have the ceremony at the church or at the reception hall. We are both Catholic but he is 'not into the religion thing'...

Re: Relationships
nope - we have actually never had a fight/argument in our life together - but each of us have made a lot of comprimises re the wedding. Mostly about parent requests.
We even had identical answers for pre cana. freaky
He's pretty excited about planning so I have it easy!
