Have you looked at the stresses and delemia of the brides of the next 3 years?
I think it is probablly what we were thinking about when we started planning... but there are so many stressing threads on the BHB page,, it makes me laugh that they are concerned about their weddings that seem so far off! I know that this was us back in the 06/07 years!

I stressed out big time planning my wedding, started smoking from the stress my STD vendor gave me. When in reality i did not need to even sent out STD's let alone 16 months before the wedding.
I stressed over FMIL issues, and everything worked out, I stressed out about my CRAZY insane family, who walked down with who, who got annouced with who.
I literally was in a Xanex coma during the 3 weeks before my wedding.
I Stressed about my Bridal Shower big time, I stressed about my Bachelorette party because the girls did not went to spend alot of money and i was jealous of the girls on this site doing amazing things for theirs. I had a great time and it all worked out in the end.
I obsessed about my wedding gown, i tried on hundreds changed my mind dozens of times, all for what, for it to be sitting filthy in the garment bag. I was a complete psycho when it came to wedding gown shopping
I gave myself gray hairs over this wedding but i would do it all over again.
Part of me is sad its over, i had all the events, E-party, Bridal Shower, Bachelorette party, Rehersal Dinner, Day after Brunch. And its literally totally over.
I get jealous that the 09 10 11 girls still have their weddings to plan, its difficult some times to come to terms that, that part of my life is over and there is a new part starting.
I think I was definately a bridezilla who stressed and put alot of people through alot of nonsense and drama and i will admit it and own up to it.
Weddings bring out soooo many emotions and feelings and its hard to keep those feelings in. They are good feelings and bad feelings, its all part of the planning process
STD's would cause me to smoke too

Yes--you're right...hindsight IS 20/20 and I too find it amusing that people get so stressed out so far in advance of their wedding days. Like others though, I also think that we don't know what the circumstances surrounding their personal lives are either and that can be a huge factor.
However, from my personal experience I think that too many brides focus too much on having everything perfect and micromanaging and focusing on the party--it's not about a party...it's about a marriage. You can't control everything, so once you realize that and let it go it'll be easier.
I'm very detailed and I'm a planner by nature, but I didn't get anywhere near as stressed as some of the other brides. I was very laid-back and took it as it came because I KNOW that I CAN'T control everything and I CAN'T plan for the unexpected like that.

totally agree many of us stressed about stuff - some of us more than others LOL
seriously, in hindsight and now that i am expecting; it puts EVERYTHING into perspective of what is really important and what isnt

09er here! While i know I am now almost 6 months away from my wedding, i just needed to say that when i came on LIW i was 1 yr away. I booked all of my major vendors within 2 months because honestly, i live on a beach & didnt want to be bothered to do it by summertime. Just because i booked kind of early does not mean in any way that i didnt do my research/homework on every vendor i ended up booking. In fact alot of my research came from these boards & 09 boards as well! I have not changed a vendor still & will not i love everyone i choose! I personally dont see why it would matter to anyone if they decide to book 1 yr away or 1 month away its all your perogative & if they have second thoughts as to who they choose then thats why we are here. To help each other make a great decision to have the best day ever! I know this wasnt meant to be a drama starter or even a hurtful thread. But you do have to realize that things which are said always have a consequence & do end up hurting someone. intentional or not the hahahaha's are so immature and rather uncalled for. These girls look to you for advice (myself included) .The funny thing is im 33 and i make my own decisions & i dont run every time i get something or find out something to get approval here. If i find something worth mentioning or showing to possibly help another girl then im happy about that! I dont think that kind of help or girls posting things about needing help or decision making is so bad! I mean im sure you all have done it at some point in your life!

I have 8 months left not 1 year
Hotel Blocks complete Bride's dress ordered Bridesmaid's dresses ordered Tuxedos picked out Church Reception hall Florist Cake Photographer DJ Rings purchased Ceremony items purchased Gift Registry Caterers
but all my booking didnt cause me any harm and im less stresse cause i dont have to spend beacoups of money at the last minute. I am a bride on a budget so when i find something on sale and i have extra cash then i buy it. I got my stuff nicely packed in bins and plastic so no big deal.
I can understand from my fellow 09ers. We have been mocked, riduculed, and belitted ( I know I have) for long engagements from family, church members, and friends. We do not need to come on here and go through the same crap...this borard is to help people, vent, and share ideas...not to make fun..
i dont change my mind too often when i ordered all my stuff i stopped searching for what i already had and left it at that but everyone is different.
BUT there has been times where i posted on formally EBP and the girls would tell me I have time for certain things and I respected their opinions and took their advice but none of them talked about me
This is why a lot of 10 and other brides dont like to share and post things because of this mess
