Listen that is your opinon.. everyone is entitled to their own. Maybe its your opinon that a wedding isnt the place for children but obviously some of us do.

Why should you have to invite the children??? I am having absolutely NO children at our wedding, no flowergirl, no ringbearer, none. It is a personal choice. I love children but I don't feel the need to have to invite them. It is up to the parents whether or not they want to get a babysiiter and come or not.

I am personally not a fan of alot of kids at weddings, but I had to have my niece and nephew at mine and another child on Dh's side.
We kept it to kids in the IMMEDIATE family.
Our guests were not allowed to bring kids.
You have to do what makes YOU happy.
Ditto!

If you are annoyed that your child is not invited somewhere then you are going to have a lot of annoyance in your life. There is a time and place for children, communions, christenings, birthday partys, etc. A nightime wedding that the bride & groom don't want children at is one of the times not for children
I agree.
Once again, the decision to not have children at a wedding is not a personal attack on the child. People sometimes think that kids are miniature adults, which they are not. They are children. There are some places that are not appropriate for children. R-rated movies, hospitals, upscale restaurants, and formal evening wedding receptions are a few, IMO.
If the parents feel its an inconveinience (sp?), or are insulted, they can choose to stay home.
Personally, I think it's healthy to be able to separate from your child for a night out with adults.

i feel the same way about kids, although i have no nieces or nephews, i have several million cousins, who are under the age of 18. one of the first things my mom said to me about it was, 'don't invite kids, b/c then the parents don't have a good time, they have to watch their kids all night', tell whoever is giving you a hard time to just deal, its your wedding and this is what you want. and yes most places do charge less for kids, but all there gonna do is eat like one and a half chicken nuggets and run around smearing ketchup everywhere. thats not fun for anybody! hang in there and i hope you get everything worked out

Thank you everyone for the posts......I am not changing my mind, FH is paying 90% and I am paying like 10% - WE are paying for the whole ourselves - We dont want children at the wedding and I think its wrong that anyone dictates to me who I should invite as far as kids are concerned.....
