Re: Removing wine labels
I didnt do it on purpose but I left a bottle in a icebucket filled with ice turned - to water - during my engagement party over the summer and the label fell off at the end of the day.
I'd scrape off excess glue with a razor and use rubbing alcohol to take off excess bits if there is any.

Re: Removing wine labels
If you put a bunch in a bucket (or even a bathtub works great), line the bottles in whatever container you're using. Fill til just over the label-level of the bottle and then shake in 1-2 scoops of oxyclean (oxiclean sp?). Wait like 4 hours or so and check labels - they should be falling off with no glue residue or anything. If not, leave for another hour or so.

Re: Removing wine labels
We just laid the bottles in the kitchen sink and filled it with room temp water. Let them soak for about 15 minutes and then the labes slid right off. We let the back labels (with the info about the wine) dry and you'd never even know they were soaked, so we were able to leave them in place.
