Renamed - Leese's Quest for a Dress.... Check out Page 2

Original post by leese

I've been in love with Demetrios gowns forever and so going there was great. I worked with this woman who was so sweet and really listened to me. For the first time, I didn't get thrown into a strapless gown 'just to see'

Anywho...I really liked two VERY different gowns. I am NO WHERE near being finished looking for dresses, but I think I am narrowing my vision down.

I am torn between getting a very full skirt with a defined waist, or a more a-line and sleeker dress.

Here are photos of two that I really liked. They are both Demetrios. I can't really find the sleeker one on line. But I included one just like it (I tried this one on too) but it's fuller.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the first one. It is exactly what I wish I had gotton... I really love the viel too. I didn't think I would but I do. But your do have some boobage in the dress. How would Fh feel about that. I also like the second one. I am not the biggest fan of the third one. I agree that the top is not the best. but the sleeves on the second one are great. When do I get to come shopping!!!

I really do need you to come soon. Once I do the initial...I will be taking you back for the final sweep.

I agree - the third one (the very white one with just the little sleeves) was ok on the body, not on the top.

The first one - i like it but i've been in other gowns that did more for my waist and i hate my arms in it.

The big ball gowny number was great on everything EXCEPT looking at me from the side. And it's getting discontinued so I'd have to see if they can get it asap.

I liked the 2nd and the 3rd. But the fiirst gown looks beautiful on you, it's atoguh decision, I would go with whichever one you are most comfortable in.

I love the lace one you tried on - I think it's gorgeous but I'm partial to lace. Good luck!

Leese's Dress Search Continued...

Went shopping today. Went to Bonaventure - and it was ok. Tried on this dress:

In my ever quest to take pics everywhere i go...here is what I look in it. I loved it...minus the 'no sleeves'....

Ok - side note...but After Six came out with their new bridesmaids dresses and I couldn't believe it...this dress is literally what I want in dresses for the girls. Trumpet skirt, smooth satin (felt great), broach and a sweetheart neckline. Totally 40's.

I tried it on - and of course got pics of it too! But I do not look as good as the model... so here is another of her.

And it's the color I want - eggplant. It's gonna be a tough competition for another dress to take over this one. it felt great on.

ps. I'd take off the halter strap - looks better.

ETA: Oh my lord...just got a quote from RK Bridal - only $130 bucks!!!!!!!!!! WOOO HOOOOOO - wonder if I can find it cheaper online to get that 5% off additional. At the store, it was $180!!!

finding the dress is so hard... i think the last dress that you tried on flatters you very nicely... i like the dresses where you waist is a bit more defined... you can always have them add straps or cap sleeeves!! that is what im having them do with my dress...

I like the bow a lot on the gown you tried, I don't know why.

I love the last wedding dress you tried on. Is that THE ONE? Congrats!!! The BM dress is great too. What color are the girls going to wear?

ETA: nevermind, just saw the girls are wearing eggplant.

I see that you are looking for a gown with sleeves, I had the same problem too!! I actually got my dress at Macys, its a Demetrios-Cosmobella, and it is very slimming, it has boning in the top, here is a pic. And I wish you luck in finding the perfect dress!!
