I live in another state than my parents and really want to see the replies as they come in! I live 6 hours away, so stopping by to get them isn't realyl an option. Mom doesn't care if they are sent to me (she said she understands I'd like to be able to open them), but for some reason I am feeling bad...
Should I have them sent to them bc it's traditional? or me?

Re: reply cards -- sent to your parents or you?
I would have them sent to whoever is more organized.
We had the RSVP's sent to me b/c FMIL is a disaster when it comes to organization and misplacing things.
I personally did not find it exciting getting the RSVP's...I end up being narotic with the amount of late responses and such...

Re: reply cards -- sent to your parents or you?
My mother was the host of the wedding as printed on the invitation and the name/return address on the response cards were both hers. HOWEVER, I actually ended up opening most of them myself anyway as she was recovering from her surgery out of state after her fall. I went back and forth to her house from ours every day for about 2 weeks!

Thanks... I'm torn. This would be easy if I was close. I'd just have them sent there and ask them to leave them for me to open. Mom and Dad are the hosts of the wedding -- and that is what is reflected on the invite and the return address. They will mail them from NY too...
I guess I am leaning toward having them be sent to me (I do think I am more organized and that's a great considertaion ChrissynRicky!!) ... but I can't help feeling a bit guilty about it!

I was in a similar situation as you are. I had the cards sent to my mom in NC. It was a good way for her to help out and be involved more. We talk everyday anyway and so she would just give me updates on who had replied. I kept a list and she kept a list, it worked out great-no problems at all.

I'm in the same boat as you. Unfortunately we didn't really have an option, since we were apartment hunting when we ordered our invites and didn't know what our new address would be. So we had my parents' printed on instead. It stinks that they get to have all of the responses in their mailbox every day. They are mailing them to us once a week and we'll get to open them in big bunches. I say have them sent to you, it will be much more exciting that way. And these days I don't think anyone would think twice about it, especially knowing that you live far away from them.

Re: reply cards -- sent to your parents or you?
Our invites had the Together with our parents.... wording and I had the responses sent to me. It seems silly but I'm having fun checking the mail and entering the responses into my spreadsheet. My mother is also a bit disorganized which is another reason I wanted them to come to my house.

Re: reply cards -- sent to your parents or you?
I wanted them sent to me but my parents, being old fashioned in the fact that they are the hosts of the evening, felt that the replies should go to them.
My Dad calls me every day at 2pm to let me know the responses.

Traditionally if your parents are hosting the wedding then the RSVPs are sent to them. BUT if your mom doesn't mind them going to you and you really want to open them then I say throw tradition out the window and do what makes you happy!!

They are addressed to my parents, but I still live with them, so I have been opening them all. I say whoever is going to be the one keeping track of the guest list should be the one to receive them.

I have the same issue. I live in NJ and my parents on LI. One of the things I feel the most excited about is getting the responses each day but I also feel bad for some reason since my parents are the official 'hosts.' My mom says she doesn't mind, but I wonder if secretly she is disappointed. I haven't made a decision but think they will probably come to me since I know I'll have the need to immediately input them into a spreadsheet. And then me and mom can have nightly update calls! Let me know what you decide to do.
