Repost from '07 Board....My dilemma

I'm having a bit of a dilemma.....

I want to stick with tradition and have just single BMs and ushers for my wedding party. However, my FH wants to include his cousin, who is married, because 'I have to include him b/c I was an usher in his wedding.' Well....the girl that I would pair him up with is a really close friend of mine (who is single) who informed that he was hitting on her/flirting with her at my e-party!!! What a creep!!!

I don't think it's really any of my FH's business--besides, I don't think he would believe what my friend said anyways. I just know that my friend would be REALLY uncomfortable (and I don't blame her) if I paired them up together at the wedding. So I was thinking I would suggest that my friend be paired up with my brother (who is single).

What do you girls think?? What would you do if you were in my position??

Pair her up with your brother then. It makes sense and then everyone will be happy!!

ETS: I'm sorry, I misunderstood your original post. I was under the impression that there would be another BM for your FH's cousin to escort. Your FH wants his cousin as a GM, so there's really nothing to discuss. If your brother is also a GM then you can have them BOTH walk your friend down. This is done soooooo many times and nobody thinks 2x about it!!

I'm Sorry, BUT ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
I've never heard of an all single BP and I can't help but think that's a little wrong. Its not about folks status, its about who is/are friends with you.

Have her walk in with anybody, don't read to much into it

Don't you think she would be a little uncomfortable being paired with a guy who is married and who was blatantly flirting with her at my e-party?

If he was flirting with her, then yes, I understand, but I really don't think it matters if he's married or not. Honestly, they're only walking down the aisle together for a total of 30 seconds so I can't imagine that your FH would be too picky about who gets paired with who.

Really I have to say I don't see what the big deal is here...if your DH wants his cousin in the wedding it's really his decision and if you don't want him walking with your friend have him walk with someone else...end of story, no more dilemna

Who would he walk in with then? I don't have any other BM's.

You mean you only have 1 BM or everyone else is already paired off? Can you switch him with the guy from another couple? Or if she is your only BM and your DH would be bothered if she walked in with your brother instead of his cousin, what about having all the guys in the front to start and her walk in alone?

She is my only bridesmaid.....I guess the guys could already be standing in the front but won't it look a little uneven--1 person on one side and 2 on the other?

For my wedding I had a MOH and 4 BMs, my husband had a best man and 2 groomsmen...we had all the ladies walk in by themselves and out in groups of 1 groomsman w/ 2 BMs (and having both ushers with her would probably lessen your friends uncomforablness enough to walk back down the isle at the end when noone is paying attention anyway)...

and for the church they stood up there all uneven and it didn't matter at all...it was more about the people that we wanted to share our day with us...

Hmm....I guess it could work out.

Are you and your husband Greek? That is a beautiful church!

Just have them walk alone, the guys then the girls. Then your problem is solved. I don't understand what single/married has to do with anything. Also all they do is walk down the aisle togehter, they will barely even talk to each other. I am not sure i understand the problem here.
if the guy was flirting with her, he has issues since he's married, but I don't see what him being married has to do with it.

I think you are REALLY worry about this too much. They just walk in, pose for a couple of pics and that's it. Having a married person walk in with a single person evening if he's flirting is no big deal. Its your wedding and you have way to much to worry about this

I agree what is the big deal they aren't hooking up or anything and I am sure that it's not the first time your friend has been hit on so she should know how to handle herself in the even that he gets out of line. His wife will probably be at the wedding anyway so there really shouldn't be an issue. You are thinking way to deep when there are going to be so many other things to worry about. I have never heard that the BP has to be all singles.

You seem to be concerned with tradition--but to me, it's more traditional to choose the people close to you for your bridal party than to pick singles. Like others have said, you're not hooking them up, you're just having them escort one another.

We'll have at least 3 more guys than girls in our BP, so at times a gal might be escorted by two men. No biggie. None of your guests should be paying attention to formations here, but rather the mood and how beautiful you all look!

Definelty pair her up with your brother so sleazy doesn't hit on her.

EXACTLY.....I couldn't believe it when my friend told me! She was really turned off by him. She had to make a point of saying that she was there with a date so he would ''get the idea''.
