Repost from 07, NWR: Shampoos that lighten hair.

I just got my hair colored and it is soo dark. I hate it! I told the woman that did it that its too dark and she said 'give it a month it will lighten up'. A month, excuse me??? When I got home I was steaming and FH said call the manager. The manager was right there and heard me mention it, so I don't want to call and go back there. That will be the last time that I go to this place. Does anyone know of any shampoos that will lighten my newly colored hair??

just dont use a shampoo designed for dyed hair and it should start to lighten it.
what color did you have it done? that can also affect it.
i know that when i dye my hair black 'regular' shampoo fades it quickly.

I would definately go back or call them though. I had an experience with a salon last year that messed up my hair cut. i went back the next day b/c i cried so much the first.

i wound up going to the BBB. it's the only time i've done it, but i felt it needed to be done. it was resolved very quickly and i was very pleased with the outcome.

I think any clarifying shampoo lightens hair...hth...

Try Pantene clarifying shampoo. It should strip some of the color out.

Also, Joy dish detergent works, but you need you need to condition afterwards.
