Sorry, I've never heard of it. But, as far as the scratch, maybe if you use a leather cleaner/conditioner it will make the scratch less obvious. I'm surprised, I never had that problem with my cat.

Oh, that is a good idea too. We did that with Oliver when he would bite and it worked.

From the Soft Paws website....
13) Can Soft Paws® be used on back claws?
Yes. Although most people apply Soft Paws® only to the front paws, they can also be used on the back if desired.
Applying Soft Paws® to the hind claws will help prevent damage from cats jumping on and off furniture. Also, many people have used Soft Paws® on the hind claws of cats who have skin problems and scratch excessively. The nail caps help prevent self-inflicted damage from scratching.

Have you ever trimmed them before? You just have to be careful you don't hit the vein. Maybe you're better off having a vet do it or get a stypic.

thanks, im going to try to pick some up today. im not as upset about the furniture as I am with FH - he is like a child when it comes to these things, whining and screaming like there is anything we can do at this point, the furniture is scratched. he doesnt get it. ill try the soft paws.
