REPOST FROM NW- As a bride to be how would you feel about this- invite question

We received an invite to a wedding.

We are definetely attending.

However the bride neglected to include the response card. I am sure it was a mistake.

My thoughts were to send an informal note with some well wishes confirming our attendance.

Now if you received something like this, would you feel embarassed, or annoyed that we did not personally call you to alert you of the missing response card?

I would probably feel embarrassed when I got your note and realized I forgot to send you a response card. But I would appreciate it that you didn't call me on it.
I think your idea is perfect, just send back a nice note.

I wouldn't feel either..I would think it was a simple error and thats it.. Let's face it we send out a lot of invites, i think i am sending about 100 -120. so if there are a few errors..well thats life...

I would feel a little embarassed for her but your solution sounds perfect, send her an informal note. I am sure no bride wants to forget something like this..........

no, i'd be fine with a note- assuming you mention that reason is that I forgot the resposen card, in case yours wasn't the only one, I'd want to know.
a note is probably better, so the respnse is still in writing.

I wouldn't feel embarrassed ($hit happens) or annoyed at all...I would be thankful that you took the time to write something nice and let me know you will be attending.

Myfriend accidentally sent 2 reception cards and no repsonse card in a few of her invites. A couple of people called her and she was fine with it. A note is a nice gesture...actually I think that is the way people used to respond anyway.

I wouldn't call, I would just send a nice note telling her that you will be attending. Personally, I would be embarrassed if I forgot to include the response cards and people called me to tell me about it. Ignorance is bliss.

Also, I heard somewhere that it used to be that people didn't send response cards; it was up to the guests to send a hand written note telling the bride and groom whether or not they would attend.

I would send a note. I have actually read in some etiquette books that it was done this way many years ago and it was just assumed that the guests would send their own responses. As a society, we all got a little lazy, and now we provide the responses.

Don't say anything. You might just find out that she never intended them to be enclosed.
