I gave myself 6 weeks I think The average is probably 6 weeks - a month before
If you are having a large wedding the earlier the better - you will need time to do the seating arrangements, place cards, track down people who dont rsvp ( ) Some people even wait until after the rsvps come in to order the favors so they don't get stuck with too many extras

i made mine 4 weeks, I was going to do 6 but a few people i spoke to said they might just put it somewhere then and be lazy about sending in the card!
actually 4 1/2 weeks before!

Actually last night I got the MOST SLEEP I have gotten in I don't know how many years!!!!! Now I will probably be awake for a week straight

We did about 5 weeks before the wedding. Like others have said, 4 to 6 weeks is pretty standard.

We made ours 6 weeks before. I was concerned about people going away on vacations.
