Restaurant Job?

Original post by cherish83

SO again, FH is without a job. He hasn't worked since September. While I am not working either, because of family situations, it is starting to annoy me that FH hasn't found a job. He's been on interviews and trials but nothing! He isn't as involved as i think he should be in looking for one and I am getting so PIS SED off with him!!! He needs to take whatever at this point, whether is a cook position or not. We need to be able to save for this wedding. So if any of you know of a position in a kitchen please let me know.

I think hes better off going to a recruiter. When you send resumes online especially when you find it off of craigs list or monster.com, people don't even actually check the resumes. When they receive the email it is scanned, basically they have 'keywords' they are looking for and if those words are not in the resume then they wont even look at it. Also, there are hundreds of people applying for one job on listings like craigs list. It takes forever.

I was applying for jobs in the summer, and I went to a recruiter and I actually got a job the next day. Funny thing is that about 2 months later I started getting email regarding the jobs I applied for.

If you want I will give you the name of the recruiter, she is very good.

That would be great. Thanks.

he can try a temp agency too. I think you give them your availability and they'll find a job around that. I think come january it'll be much easier for him to find a job. No one leaves their jobs right before christmas, it's bonus time!

That is very true!

we are trying to hire right now, and its almost impossible, no one wants to leave a job right now and miss out on bonuses, and then have a lapse in pay while changing over.

I think we will run the ad, again after the new year.

its not a restuarant, its a technology company.
We are looking to hire a programmer.
But i was agreeing that this is probably the worst time of year to be trying to find a job, or looking to hire. Most people dont want to leave right before christmas.
