Resume Question

Resume Question

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but I have never had to include salary requirements on one before. Where exactly on your resume does salary requirement go and how do I figure out home much to actually put??

Re: Resume Question

I think that using the cover letter is a better approach, but I'm assuming that the job posting said to put it on your resume.

You could put it either at the end, or in your objective (first paragraph, but put it at the end of the first paragraph if you do it that way).

I usually ignore when they ask for a salary requirement. I'd rather just discuss it with them in person and give them a range. I don't want to commit to a specific number.

i usually put it in the closing paragraph of my cover letter and write something like 'my salary requirements are flexible within the range of x to x.'

I agree..some companies won't even consider your resume if they ask for it and you don't give it. Cover letter is appropriate. If you are sending it via e-mail, include it in the e-mail body.

put it in your cover letter, at the end...but include it if they ask for it.

rescruiters are going through 100s of resumes. I usually trash resumes without it...if I ask for it in my ad. why would I want to hire someone that can't follow directions?

Re: Resume Question

I just sent some resumes by email and put the salary requirement in the body of the email and attached my cover letter and resume. Why do they want salary requirements anyway?

Jaime what happened to the new job?

I'm there, but this new job is in Queens and Brooklyn and I just recently found out that this job exists on Long Island and probably pays more here, so I am going to send my resume in here too. I would love to stay on the island, for one it'll cost me less in gas, I know the streets and I'd be more comfortable. So far I have gotten lost twice in a matter of three days in Brooklyn and today I had a panic attack in there because of some not so nice areas I was in. I kinda freaked out a bit!! So I am going to send the resumes in, I can always turn them down, just want to keep my options open especially since DH and I plan to buy a home out east in the future so nassau would just be better location wise!!
