REVIEWS

Not sure if any of you remember I posted the observation of the lack of reviews...I feel like I am constantly looking for reviews to help me in my direction...as I feel many of you do. I also want to see good or bad reviews about people I've booked or may look into, because i feel it would be helpful in many ways. Honestly, it is one of the great benefits this site has to offer. (aside from meeting people and getting great advice, or in some cases therapy sessions :)

My point is...I have been looking around on the BHB and newlyweds and there are many threads that talk about why some people may not post their reviews...I am really disappointed..

What do you guys think? Do you think I am over reacting? I mean how many weddings happened in the past few months??

I have noticed a lot of people post their review some time after their weddings because they are trying to resolve issues with certain vendors.
Its also frustrating for them because if a vendor deserves a poor review and she posts it, it will most likely get pulled.
If you notice that someone has used one of your vendors, I would FM her, most people are totally willing to tell you what they thought.

I've also noticed that people only post their reviews over time... you gotta remember, after the wedding most go on their honeymoon and after the honeymoon, couples who don't live with each other already, are probably in the process of moving, etc... I've noticed that many girls will post late reviews, so I am hoping that sometime soon that board will be moving....

ETA: But I do wish that more would definetly post their reviews...

I agree, some girls don't post because they are still waiting for proofs, working details out with vendors. I won't post mine unless I can give a full review, unless I put in bold 'will give final grade upon final deliver'. I figure I'll post my review a couple of weeks after I get married and then update it as I get my final products.

Albums and videos take months to do. Plus it's not always the vendor's fault, some girls don't get to do their albums right away cause they need a break from the wedding for a bit.

Some brides also are backed up at work from missing work due to extended time on LIW prior to weding and time off for their honeymoon, etc

04 reviews are good to read, especially since you can contact the brides now that they have their final products and have had service from vendors from start to end.

I agree bad posts are sometimes pulled. If I had a bad comment, I would say something no too negative and then ask brides to FM me for more details. I've seen some posts like that. This way you can get the full story and ask questions you need to.

I have said this before and I'll say it again.

Maybe they are writing thank you notes. How many threads have we all seen that have people complaining when they don't get one.

I actually think a few more got up there recently.

Definitely need to give them time. I know my MOH had so much going on right after the wedding that she hasn't posted at all. Plus it's the summer, etc.

And someone else said, there are things that they can't give an official review about yet.

I actually said to my MOH that I prefer when someone does a review at least a month after the wedding. That's when things sink in. You find a lot of girls will give A+++++++ for some vendors...while I am sure that those vendors were amazing, I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Sometimes I think it would be better if LIW did a real ranking system...

For the record....I do not doubt that everyone is busy...the reason why I started this thread is because i noticed on other sections..o5 and newlyweds..there were brides saying that they do not plan to..for various reasons...
