RH contracts and negotiations

RH contracts and negotiations

FH and I will most likely sign contract with RH this weekend. I have not seen what the 'standard' RH one looks like. Any tips you can provide would be great!

Can you add/alter the language and clauses? Or is it pretty much 'just sign here.'

What type of flexibility do I have and what are some suggestions for a way to negotiate lower rates or more *extras*?

THANKS A MILLION!

Re: RH contracts and negotiations

I had my RH write the contract 3 times. I made sure they included EVERYTHING they said to me from white glove service to passing out my signature drink at cocktail hour. Write down what you agreed on with the BM and make sure they include it. Our weddings are approaching fast but it is still enough time for the BM and other people you have dealt with to go their separate ways. I am a teacher and may be extremely anal and organized but I just wanted to be on the safe side lol

did you do that all while you were there? or was it something that you took home and revised? or did through email? just wondering the logistical flow.

thanks again.!

also before we signed, I said that we were ready to sign but that i wasn't happy with the amount of stations they were giving us at cocktail hour. They didn't want us not to sign because of that so they worked with us.
They didn't do pasta for dinner but it was important to me to have it as a course, they threw it in!
Don't be afraid to ask!!

I did it while i was there! Once you sign, you have to be careful. I am sure they will work with you but sometimes they may not.

ETA: before we signed we figured everything we wanted and asked for it. Make sure you do that. They even threw in the Viennese hour.

Re: RH contracts and negotiations

I agree with the other ladies. Anything you could possibly imagine wanting make sure you ask you'll be surprised what they'll agree to and make sure they WRITE it in your contract. If wou want chair covers ansk them to throw it in WITH the sashes. My RH 'threw in' the covers but didn't include the sashes. I have to pay extra if I want them. Also, depending what hall you're going with, some will lower the price if you up your minimum guarantee. Also my hall has an inn and I didn't even think about it at the time but a lot of girls got a comp room and when I called my BM to ask if I can get one he told me no and that was for ppl who were spending like $15000+ so I lost out on that. Bottom line ask, tell or demand what you want and make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. The worst they'll say is 'no'.

Good Luck and Congratulations!!!!
