RH Deposits?

RH Deposits?

How does this usually work- do they generally want a certain percentage at booking? Does it need to be cash/check? Full balance is generally due a week before the wedding in cash?

Re: RH Deposits?

we had to put $500 down and pay monthly I'm not sure what percent is due a week before the wedding, I think it varies from place to place

Our RH asked us for a $1,000 deposit. We have to make payments every couple of months. The rest is due a couple of weeks before our wedding.

We did a $1500 deposit, no payments until the one a week prior to the wedding with seating charts and a final headcount

Re: RH Deposits?

I'm seriously sitting here and crunching numbers and I just don't see it. I was out of work for a few months and wasn't eligible for unemployment so I'm playing 'catch up' now as I lived off my savings for that time. I don't plan on asking my parents for anything (although they might offer, I'm planning on doing this ourselves). FH and I both have a lot of available credit as there are no balances on our credit cards, but I don't think the RHs will take credit if we had to do that. Grrrr.....

I hear ya tho! Im living paycheck to paycheck and it's not cool!

If you guys can't swing something big, then seriously - try and keep the guest list small... do something on a friday night or sunday, and you can strike a deal Im sure!

It will work out! You deserve this!!!!
And I can book your honeymoon LOLOLOL

Re: RH Deposits?

I paid 500 for a deposit and a few thousand every two months. To keep myself on budget I took the total due (based on minimum) and divided it by the number of paychecks before the due date. I paid chunks of money when I could and got my bi-weekly payment down to 275. I actually do mail them a payment twice a month!!

Re: RH Deposits?

We had to give a $500 down and paid 3 or 4 payments of $1500 and gave the rest in cash 1 week before the wedding.

All payments were made in cash.

Re: RH Deposits?

Well, as I'm working on this budget, I'm realizing that as long as we can try to keep it at $100/head or less, I think we can manage it.

Re: RH Deposits?

we paid 2500 deposit and then incremental payments are due up until the wedding..the only payment they accept w/ a CC was the deposit.

Re: RH Deposits?

I just put $500 down by credit card and my payments of $500 a month start in February. They said they will accept one more payment by credit card and if I want to do a whole bunch of months that's fine. They said the final payment had to be cash or check though, not plastic. We worked out the payment plan to work for us. Originally it was going to be extremely different.

Re: RH Deposits?

Don't forget though, when they say $100 pp the gratuity and tax is probably not included so it will actually be around $129 a head. Just something to remember so you don't get blindsided.
