RH issues

Re: RH issues

99% chance that Louis XVI will remain Louis XVI. The owners of Villa Lombardi are just trying to trash Louis XVI to ruin their business so that their value goes down and then the Lombardis will have enough $$ to buy it!

No a bride on here already booked them as 'Lombardi's on the Bay' so it's definitely happening.

I've been told that the owner of Louis XVI is PISSED that Lombardi's is booking Louis XVI before the closing and that wasn't supposed to happen. The deal was supposed to go through by last night and it didn't so the deadline has been extended to next Tues but it doesn't look like the Lombardis will be able to get the bank loan they need by then. When I talked to Lombardi, they confirmed that it was not finalized yet.

All I know is that they are definitely booking now as Lombardi's on the Bay. It really has no bearing on me at all and since you are dealing with them, you probably have a better idea of what is going on, but I just don't want to see other brides getting screwed. I hope it all works out for everyone!!

Re: RH issues

I agree, if I were looking for a place right now I would not book either Louis XVI or Lombardi on the Bay because everything is so up in the air right now. I hope it works out for everyone!

Yes, that is me! I actually confirmed with Lombardi's that all has gone through with Louis XVI and I will be able to see the new Lombardi's on the Bay in the Spring. Sorry I didn't write back sooner, I am still trying to figure out some things on here!!! I will let you girls know if I hear anything else though!!! Good luck!

I feel so bad for the brides who were booked at Louis XVI as Louis XVI. Now that the Lombardis took over, what will happen to those brides??

I know! I feel for them too!! As far as I am being told by Lombardis, they are honoring any parties booked with Louis but the place will be renovated. I guess when you have a place that you loved and booked, the last thing you want to hear is renovations!!! I wish everyone affected by this the best of luck though!

We are meeting with the Lombardi's owner this weekend and they are saying they will honor our contract and work with us to make us happy, however they will give us our money back if we want it. The renovations are really stressing me out and we are currently considering other places

Don't count them out quite yet - they usually do a good job with their halls, and they certainly have the money to really fix it up... but the style of the ballroom will probably be quite different.

Good luck and ITA, don't count them out just yet! Go in there with an open mind because from what I am being told, the place is going to look gorgeous when they are done in May! Being that we booked before we have seen the hall, they told us we can void the contract if we don't like it when it's done. I have been to Lombardi's weddings before and they really do a great job! Good luck and let me know what happens when you meet with them!

Re: RH issues

Thanks! We are definitely going in with an open mind but I don't want to be stressing about whether the construction will be done in time and if I will even like it.

Thatched Cottage has our date available and so does de Seversky center but we shall see.

I will get married in a basement if I have to!

WHen I called Villa Lambordi the lady said they didn't have the date I originally wanted but she told me about the other RH Louis XVI which is on the water. There were not enough pics online of it so I didn't wanna go and be disappointed...I wanted to have an idea b4 went

I heard Louis XVI is being taken over by the Lombardi's. Anyone have pics or info on this?

Re: RH issues

I booked my date with Louis XVI too and have to deal with the takeover by Lombardis. They were generous with the food options and honored everything in our contract. I am pretty disappointed with having to share the outside patio with happy hour partiers rather than having the entire outside to ourselves and... guests don't walk through the actual beautiful old entry.. they walk through the patio area where new bathrooms will be built along with a bridal suite. Also, I am not a fan of the entire ballroom tile floor. But, I am still having my wedding there; the room is still spectacular, especially with the cleanup job and fresh coat of paint.

Re: RH issues

If you are considering having your reception at a hotel you should check into the Sheraton in Smithtown. They have several banquet rooms that are very nice.

Also Watermill Caterers are close to a few hotels including the above.

Also look into East Wind - I believe its a hotel/spa as well as a place for receptions...right?

Good Luck!!
