RH Quotes, Late May/Early June '14
Hi ladies,I'm newly engaged and having a hard time setting a budget. My parents think I should just look at a bunch of RH, get quotes, and go from there, but I don't want to fall in love with a venue we can't afford.
We don't have a set date because it depends on when FH's graduation is, but it will definitely be either the last 2 weekends in May or the first in June.
Right now, we have decided we want to have our ceremony in a church in either Oyster Bay or Merrick, but as far as RHs go, we have nothing.
We are probably looking at 150-200 guests.
Do any of you have some quotes for May or June you wouldn't mind sharing, just so I can get an idea before we go in person?
Thanks!!

May and june are usually expensive, however,if you do it on a weekday you might get a good deal. I remember a friend's wedding at the watermill was $65 pp on a thursday evening. Cheapest months are January to march...so idk if you would like to consider those months.

When FH and I went looking at RH's I knew I wanted October since I love the fall. I thought it would be cheaper than getting married in June-September. I was proven wrong. I was told that if I got married during the summer months, it would be cheaper since now the popular wedding season is Fall. I couldn't change our month since my brother is getting married 2 months before me in August.

I know! It's frustrating that it will be smack in the middle of the priciest months, but it's the *only* time that will work. He should have about a month between med school graduation and beginning his residency. He has the option to take off during Jan-April at some points, but most people who do use it for research/residency interviews. This way, he automatically has free time. I also don't want to own half of his MD since he won't own half of my JD. Just doesn't seem fair

We will definitely look into the Watermill!
Now if only the Office of Student Affairs could get their act together and let me know when he graduates so we can pick a date!
Planning to plan is much less satisfying!

Thanks for giving me hope that this won't completely break the bank!
