RH Stress

Original post by MrsZtoBe

OK- we visited our last round of places and we still do not have a clear choice.

We loved Swan Club, but our wedding would have to be:
7-7:30 ceremony
7:30-8:30 cocktail hour
8:30-12:30 reception

YIKES!! That is LATE!

Chateau La Mer was great but if it rains we are getting married in a chapel right out of Vegas.
That is a big concern to me...

Thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks for your help...

The room they offered us first has a great time but we didn't like the room at all. It is the Contessa Room. The garden room is the one we liked with the late time.

I even asked if the times could be switched and they can't.

we got married in the contessa room. it was honestly lovely. remember, the rooms look different once they are all 'dressed up' and the lighting is changed. i also think the layout of the room is nice b/c the bride and groom can see everything that is going on. just my opinion but we really liked the room. if you like the swan club, maybe you should reconsider?

Re: RH Stress

12:30 really isn't bad at all..my wedding is on a Thurs and it's from 7-12. I guess it depends on your family and friends though, I know my friends will take off the next day and will party all nite , and my family actually asked for an extra hour at my cousins wedding because htey didn't want to leave, so hopefully everyone will stay! Both are beautiful places for diff reasons...good luck choosing!

Late sunday is rough for 9 to 5 peopleo not that it matters its your wedding!

I think you should keep looking until you find exactly what you are looking for!

It took me 8 mos to find my rh and I am glad I waited cause its perfect for us

honestly....I think I prefer the SC but which do you like better...the water or the gardens...that would be my deciding factor!

and that time slot is NOT too late!

The chapel at CLM is very simple... but its fine you only have 30 mins or less anyway. ChateauBriand's chapel was the one that reminded me of a chapel in Vegas or Hollywood. It just wasn't for me....

BTW I am just hoping it doesn't rain so I can get married outside :)

Re: RH Stress

So are you still getting married 8/2/09 on a Sunday?? I have an evening on a Sunday too actually the Sunday right before that. My ceremony is starting at 6:30pm though... and the reception will run till midnight. I think its fine. What time is the CLM one? Also is your family mostly in Nassau and Suffolk??

You need to pick whichever one you LOVE and if you don't love it I would keep looking to be honest. I knew it the moment I walked in and I had to have it. I slept on it and couldn't stop thinking about it. You will know the one.

Good Luck!

Re: RH Stress

We basically had the same issues with CLM, the chapel and if it rains we lose the boat ride which was one of the main reasons that we would want to book .. too much money to gamble on the weather, IMO!

I think the hours for the swan club are fine .. we are having the same hours only our ceremony is form 6:30-7, cocktail 7-8 and reception 8-12:30 with the vienesse table and this is for a friday wedding
