RH Visits Poll... with or w/o parents

trying to make my mom part of the wedding by involving her in our choices but i think that was a bad move on my part...
now she is forcing Leonards for our wedding venue ...

Just be careful on who you invite to doing weddings tasks with . I went with my Mother and mother-in-law ans wow was that difficult. I think you should do what make you comfortable and happy :) After all this is your day

at first, we took my parents with us on RH visits....the first day we saw 4 in one day with 5 ppl (me, FH, my mom, my dad, and my sis) that was completely overwhelming and we all ended up with huge headaches. After that, just me and FH went on the appts alone til we found 'the one'. Then we took both sets of parents back to make sure everyone liked it as well. I would say only go with u and FH and then take parents back after you've narrowed it down to ur top couple....

btw - i thought you were already booked? are you changing ur venue?

tricky... i'd say bring parents (or mom/fmil) if they have the same taste as you & FI.

I went to all the RHs with my mom. FH is insanely busy and did not have time to go to so many places. Once I had decided on a favorite place, I brought him for approval. It worked out well for me.

I went with my mom, sometimes my dad and FH. FH and I did not like my dad being around too much, he was embarrassing me and it made me uncomfortable in the meetings... and my mom, she was fine during, but like you said, afterwards, she was pushing what she wanted and was like making decisions in her own head about things that were between FH and I. So just stay strong. Remember its your day and your opinion and fh's opinion is what matters.

i went to initial meetings alone or with FH. then when we narrowed it down to like 2 we went back to each with our parents.

i tell my mom as little as possible until i book a vendor. She did not come with me in any way to the RH's I could only imagine what would have happened if she did

We took our parents to a couple of them, but they mostly just sat back and let us do the work.

We actually brought his sister with us, since she had gotten married 3 years ago I figured she knew what to ask & say. It was a big help, & then once we decided on the hall FH did the 'wheeling & dealing' haha

We did both! Some visits it was just FH (at the time lol) and me and sometimes it was us and my parents.

I actually went with my friends, two of them are already married so they knew what to ask.

If I really liked the hall, I then brought FH back to see it.

bring the parents to places you've already seen and are considering... don't waste ur nerves by bringing them initially and have them run your day... it's YOUR wedding, they already had theirs :)
