Ridiculous

Original post by coldasice217

So a few months ago I had posted about how my sister is planning on bringing her male friend (who does not like me) as her guest to the wedding, because her other friend who she brought to our other sister's wedding will be out of the country at the time of mine. I wasn't happy with this choice, but I was like whatever, I don't care as long as she completely covers theirselves. Rude, I know, but whatever, she was pissing me off.

So he was at the house a few weeks ago, and apparently he has said something to me, which I didn't hear, so I didn't answer him, and walked out of the room. So now his panties are all in a bunch, and my sister is flipping that he is going to not want to come with her because I insulted him so gravely, and that she will be guestless.

Um, please. Do me a favor and don't come.

So my mother wants me to make a big deal and apologize to him and kiss his butt, and my father is the total opposite and is like eff that, she doesn't need to apologize for anything here. He's a little leery of him as well, so he understands where I'm coming from, even though in this particular case I wasn't being INTENTIONALLY rude.

So how ridiculous is that? I mean, I want my sister to have a guest so she's not bored, but she's acting like this is the only person she can bring, and why do I have to bend over backwards to keep him placated? I didn't hear him, sheesh, he reacted like I ran over his dog.

ok honestly.. your wedding is in Dec.. and if he is going to hold a grudge for 6 months.. then I wouldnt want him at my wedding, especially when you didnt even do anything! If it was that important to him, why didnt he or your sis call you back into the room? Just kind sounds like HS drama bs, IMHO.. how old is he?

She's 19, almost 20 and he's 20, almost 21, so yes, this clearly is hs/college drama bs.

Like I'm a wise old sage at 24, but still. Go scratch I say.

He sounds like hes 12! lol Drama that you totally dont need. First off, I wouldnt want anyone going to my wedding that didnt like me.... so its like why do you have to kiss his butt if you 2 clearly dont like each other? I guess if your sister is really making a big deal of this, I would just apologize and thats it.... dont kiss his butt bc theres no need for that. He sounds really immature!

Why is your sister bringing someone who doesn't like you, and why on God's green Earth would you allow it?

Tell him to eff off and stay as far away from your wedding as possible. You don't need that, and if your sister will be bored on your wedding day, that's an entirely different issue and she ought to recognize what the day is all about and enjoy.

I barely SPOKE to my date at my brother's wedding I was so busy! Same with other weddings I've been a bridesmaid in. She doesn't need a guest at all, let alone an annoying child.

Sorry, this just rubbed me the wrong way (as clearly it did you as well!)

Some people are just crazy!

Not that you should have to explain yourself to this person, but did you happen to tell them you didn't hear him? Or that it wasn't intentional?

I wouldn't apologize or kiss his a$$...that's for sure!

Stand your ground....good luck with the situation!
