RIU PARADISE ISLAND?

has anyone been and have any feedback on it - my Dh and i are looking for someplace to go for our one year annniversary and were thinking about Paradise Island Bahamas,

the sandals there seems overpriced and i havnt heard the greatest reviews and atlantis seems very expensive -

riu is right next door to atlantis, only opened in december 2004 and seems priced right $2900 for 6 nights all inclusive including airfare.

The only information I have about that hotel is that the beach is beautiful. I stoped in the bahamas on a recent cruise I took and visited the Atlantis & stayed on the beach at the RIU hotel in Paradise Island. Yes it is right next door to the Atlantis. GOod thing is.. you can still use all the facilities in the Atlantis.. I think they charge you a fee per day. Bad thing is.. theres not much to do on Paradise Island BUT visit the Atlantis. Another bad thing.. the natives haggle you at the beach (RIU) for hair brading and to buy things like sarongs & necklaces - reason being.. the beach is public. The beach on the Atlantis grounds is private. With that being said.. I personally would spend the extra money to stay at the Atlantis (If your heart is set on staying in Paradise Island) I personally felt like the Atlantis looked like any other Vegas hotel.. It has the casino & the beautiful grounds. For Parasise Island?? Its amazing.. AND ITS HUGE. Im sorry I dont know much else about the RIU.
