Riviera Plastic Ceremony Chairs

Riviera Plastic Ceremony Chairs

Has anyone else had the ugly stackable plastic chairs at their outdoor Riviera ceremony? I hate them, but there isn't much I can do. Renting chairs is too expensive, and the reception chairs aren't allowed on the lawn at the Riviera. I look at the pictures of other weddings and when the seats are filled you can barely notice, but I keep thinking people will arrive and see them as very tacky. Am I crazy to worry about it? Have any other Riviera brides come up with a good solution?

Thanks!!

What about getting ribbon to tie around the back of the chairs?

I had my wedding there and used the plastic chairs. Seriously, for as long as people are going to sit in them (15min...30 tops?) it really wasn't worth it to agonize over. I thought they looked fine and no one really cared about sitting in them. I don't think anyone even noticed. But if its really bothering you then get them covered, but JMO its not really worth it!

Thanks for your first pic! That was the view I was worried about - and you are totally right - it looks fine!

I knew when people were sitting there wouldn't be anything to notice (mostly from all of your pics, which I have poured over and dreamed about my own Riviera Wedding, thanks!!)But I was worried about when they were empty. They are actually much nicer than they were in my mind.

You're welcome! They actually don't look as bad as you would think! And I think they would be hard to cover anyway, since they have arms. I wasn't about to worry about something my guests sat in for literally 15 min :)

And if you want to see all of my pro pics, just let me know and I will FM you the link. I'm sure your wedding will be absolutely gorgeous!

I want to say thank you for asking and posting this!

I have the same 'ugly' stackable white chairs to contend with at Douglaston manor. Now I realize for the 20minutes guests will be there, they candeal with it.

it doesn't look that bad once butts are in the seats...

I will be at the Douglston Manor for a party tonight! Anything you want me to check out for you while I'm there? ;) there's always a million things I wish I could stop into the Rivera and see - like the colors of the seats of the dining room chairs, etc. If you have any requests I can always fm you pics haha!

My aunts wedding is at the Riviera this coming Saturday May 12, so if you want me to check anything out let me know! Its very small wedding during the day so it won't be hard to explore the place a little lol

OMG -That would be so great! We live in Lynbrook, so it's hard to 'stop by' for these things. I'd love to know what color the chairs are in the dining room (I know they recently got new ones). I'm also trying to figure out how big I can make my place cards. I think most brides put them on the table outside the door. Any pics of that would be awesome! I hope you guys get good weather, maybe she can even do the outside cocktail hour, was that her plan? Thanks so much!

as for the riviera and plastic chairs... funny, but i never even thought twice about them - thought they looked fine!

I went to an outdoor wedding there and for the life of me, I cannot remember the chairs I sat on. My advice, save your $ for something else.
