Re: Roman Catholic Brides: Having full mass or ceremony? Did you feel at first guilty with choosing short ceremony?
When we set the date with the church and sat in front of the priest we picked a mass. Just a few days ago I went to the churh for my music and changed it to a ceremony. There was a bit of guilt at first, but we got over it.

We are having just the ceremony...we chose this because of the lack of time we have. From what my church told me its only a matter of 15 minuted difference...But we need all the time we can get

Our initial plan was to have just a half hour ceremony but we changed our minds after attending our friends' wedding a few months ago. They had the nuptial mass (1hour) and in our opinion, it was the most beautiful ceremony ever....so...now, we are going with the nuptial mass ourselves.

We had the full mass. I have to say I'm so glad I did it, because I was sooo nervous throughout the ceremony, I didn't calm down until communion. (I am so not an attention person, and all those eyes on me coming down the aisle was so nervewracking for me, I was shaking!) I really loved sitting up there and watching everyone who came to the church, receiving communion, etc. It was nice to relax a bit while up there and calm down! I've been to ceremonies and they are just as nice, but I just wanted the mass. No need to feel guilty about a ceremony, do what you want, it's your wedding!
