Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

Tara - were they going to make you pay for the overnight room???

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

They were--$500-- Do you mean that I was the only one that they were going to charge?? Glad I decided I didnt want to stay anyway.

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

I am planning to take advantage of the overnight room- ours is included, no extra charge and I think that's usu. included anyway. The room was beautiful and it saves us from having to pay for a room elsewhere.

btw- has anyone contacted one of the florists yet? Is there reputation for being expensive really tru? I went on their website but no information on pricing, I'm sure there's a huge range based on your individual budget. If it really becomes a problem I think that you can let the BM know....

Has anyone looked into guest accomodations? The claremont hotel, the closest one (right down the road) is $$$$. Any others out there just as close?

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

I was thinking of doing the Wingate in Garden City for hotel for guests. Its a little farther than the Claremont, but they will keep the bar open if you request it for your guests for after hours at no extra charge and if you have enough rooms booked, they offer free transportation to and from the reception. The Claremont has no after hours possibility for guests(trust me, my cousin got married there and they gave us a hard time), but if that doesnt matter, its actually a nice place.

There's also the red roof inn..

And about the FLORIST, considering I lose sleep over this.. I heard they are $$$$$$$$ and some of the people who work there can be a nightmare.. that goes for both places... but I mean they have mixed reviews

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

yikes! didn't realize that the claremont would be difficult. That's too bad... FH and I wanted to wind down afterwards at the bar with our guests... I remember the bar at the Claremont being really small too....

I think I'm going to call the Royalton and ask them to email me pictures since they don't have a website up...well actually they have a web domain but nothing but the first page is available ... www.theroyaltonmansion.com

I can forward the email or try to post the pics here so that everyone can see once I get them.

OOh yeah, please post the pics if you can!!!!Just FYI the Claremont does have a bar, but they close it at 10pm---maybe they would keep it open if you ask, but I dont think so.

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

hello ladies,

I'm a little late on this thread but wanted to join in. I'm getting married at The Royalton on 6/29/06. It was the first and only place we looked at -- it was exactly what we were looking for (and loved the fact that it's new and would be new for all our guests too).
We picked Stephans...pricey yes but they do great work. A little tip, if you deal with the owner, Chris Stephan, you'll get the best price. None of his sales guys would go as low.

P.S. Tido told us the suite upstairs would be 500! We decided to stay at the Roslyn Claremont with the rest of our guests. Anyone know of a good shuttle service?

Has anyone been there recently? I've been meaning to pass by to see how it is decorated for the holidays since my wedding is this time next year.

SO I called to ask about coming to see the pictures... Gerard told me he was sending me pictures over email and he never did... strange???

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

Hi...I am new to this....
I looked at 3 places and when I saw The Royalton, my FH and I said this is it!
My father is paying for the wedding and is hesitant because we do not know anyone that has been here or tried the food!? I love it and want to book ASAP! I don't want to look anywhere else...Does anyone have any feedback on food and service? HELP!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

I visited the Royalton on Monday....there was not one Christmas decoration?? Only a menorah. I was surprised? Maybe they leave it for the florist to do?

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

They took the decorations down on 12/23.. Gerard told me there was a 7 ft. tree. He's supposed to be getting the pictures to me, we're having some problems with email.. who knows.

**Anyone book any new vendors or anything?

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

I would ask again about the suite upstairs...I looked there not to long ago and I was told it was free as a gift to the bride and groom the night of the wedding - with butler service all night!

I know someone who went to a wedding there and they raved about everything from food to service...I would have booked it if I could afford it! Go for it!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

I dont really have anything to say, but didnt want to neglect the Royalton board when it was getting so much action today. I have done nothing as far as talking to or seeing it again...whats the deal with the website and pictures??

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

Tara-

Gerard has called me a few times trying to get the pictures sent... I think there may be something wrong with their internet service, if I get them I'll post them..

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES

Hi everyone, newly engaged and very excited that there is a Royalton chat room!
I was at an unbelievable wedding at the Royalton on 9/25/05. Yes the place is beautiful, and so perfect for any wedding.
The food and service was beyond any wedding I've ever been to! The perfect balace passed and stationary food! I was so happy to find a Saturday night open. Go for it, its the best kept secret on LI!
