Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
I am so happy the website is up! I had almost forgotten what it looked like!
I've heard the food is amazing. I've met with both florists, and yes, they are expensive.
Has anyone seen the rooms at the Wingate? I know the Claremont, but am disappointed that they won't stay open.

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
wow the website is great....
you girls having your wedding there are so lucky - it is gorgeous. It was a little more than we wanted to spend...we needed a Sat night and it was just too much $ for us. We could have afforded their Sunday night prices but we really wanted a Sat night wedding.
The pics on the website look great! But also I think for over 250 guests which is what we are having - I think it would have been too tight. In that first pic of the grand ballroom, it looks tight like the tables are on top of each other. I was afraid that would be the case for my amt of people so I am almost glad I couldn't afford it. I am in love with my place anyway but do think you will all have lovely weddings at the Royalton!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
I've been to both florists now and I'm going with Spitz and Peck. Bobby the owner was great and really took care of us. I thought the price was resonable considering what we were getting, so I'm happy. My friends have used various florists for their weddings, and it seems were in the ballpark. Don't be afraid to negoitiate with them girls!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
hello girls-
it's been a while. I too checked out the website and I am so glad it's finally up! Now I have something to show my family and friends.
Can anyone share what the price range has been for spitz and peck? I've also received some calls from Royalton-recommended vendors but I haven't gotten back to any of them. Has anyone had experience with any of them yet?
I'm so happy and excited that we've all chosen this place!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
It seems like everyone has either emailed, called or stopped by the Royalton several times....is it weird that I havent had any contact with them whatsoever since we booked it?? For what reasons would I need to be contacting them??

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
I guess we've been in so much contact with the Royalton because they encourage it so much. When I booked they told me to call as much as I wanted with food ideas or questions about different vendors. So I have! They never seem to mind, and Michael, Gerard and Tito have been so helpfull.
On the florist price range I gather that it depends on how many people, ceremony there or not, and how over the top you want to go. Talking to some other Royalton brides this is what I get: $2500-$10,000(The top range so far.). I'm in the middle of that, 200+ people, and ceremony on site.

I haven't been in touch with them since we booked it either. I haven't had a reason to.

Why in the world would anyone spend 10,000 on flowers...??? I have a sister and brother both getting married in 2006 and their florists 'high end' of the price range is like $3,000... It just ***** that our 'low end' has to be $2,500... JMO

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
I am getting married at The Royalton on 9/16/06.
I just wanted to chime in that I agree, the website looks great!
Also, someone asked about the Wingate. I am staying there on my wedding night, and having guests stay there, too (and doing the morning-after brunch). The rooms are nice -- nothing ultra-luxurious, but perfectly fine, spacious, clean, etc. The Wingate has a nice bar area in the lobby, and they will re-open the bar for you and your guests post-reception for no extra cost. Their brunch options are plentiful, and you have 3 choices for a bridal suite (one is huge, one is medium sized, and one is small with no separation between the sleeping and sitting areas -- all are nice). I have found the people at the Wingate to be very helpful (I have dealt with Jessica, who is engaged herself, and was going to check out The Royalton last time I spoke to her!). They provide maps, cards with hotel information, etc. We chose the Wingate because it is close to our church (St. Joe's in Garden City) and near the parkway, so it's easy to get to. We are providing transportation via charter bus to our reception for our guests, but the Wingate has a shuttle, too. For every 15 guest rooms that book for your wedding, you get a credit (I believe $150) to put toward the brunch or bridal suite or transportation. The only not so great thing about the Wingate is that it is always $139 or $149 per room, and that is not negotiable. But I liked the idea that I would get more personal attention there and not be one of four bridal groups staying there.
Re: florists. We went with Spitz & Peck because they have an office in the city, where we live and work. We met with Gary, who is very nice, and said he would work within any budget. The thing I liked about him is that he knows Michael from the past, he knows the Royalton (and has personally done 6 weddings there since the re-modeling/reopening). He had great ideas about how to decorate and is fully familiar with the space. I think if you girls are worried about the expense, you just have to be honest about your budget, and they will work with you. YOu may not have plentiful flowers covering every mantle or every staircase, but personally, I think it is a beautiful place that needs little embellishment.
Also, don't worry, I have not been back there since I booked in July, but they don't forget about you (I just got a bill in January!). I want to take my parents and in-laws to see it, and will try to do it soon. But I am excited that I could forward the website around!
Happy planning girls!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
My mom is a travel agent and has booked people at Wingate, she said they all were pleased there.
Someone I know had a good experience with the Red Roof Inn and it was close enough to some of those resturants that people walked to them to go to the bars after! It's also cheaper I believe than some of the others.... Just an FYI for people who are looking into hotels.
Going to see a photographer tonight!!!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
Different strokes for different folkes. I once attended a wedding at Carltun on the Park, and they spent $25,000 on their flowers!!!!!
It was beautiful and way out of my range, and I agree The Royalton does't need that much help!!
Don't be scared off from the florists before you even meet them, thats just silly.
Lastly, if all else fails call The Royalton, they seem to pull alot of weight with both florists.

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
My matron of honor is Michael Einhorn's 2nd cousin. We found out at our first estimate, which was lucky for us. They don't have much contact, but it was still a help!!!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
Just wanted to say that I stopped in the Royalton today for the 1st time since we signed the contract (to show FH's parents who are from way out East) and they were very nice and accommodating. We just stopped by and didnt call or anything and they gave them the full tour and let us take our time and hang around. I was so happy to get to see it again and be reminded of what it looks like. Its really beautiful! It was set up for 240 people and there was more than enough room at the tables and on the dance floor. I was thrilled with that because I will have a little under 200 so there will be more than enough room. Didnt look tight at all! Im so re-excited!!!!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
Sounds great Tara! I think I should be at or a little above 200, so I'm happy to hear there was more than enough room. I know, I love how every time you go they give the full tour!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
I just went to the Royalton today. I must say I loved it. It is everything I was looking for in a reception hall.
Just wondering if any Royalton brides have done their tastings yet or did their final menu. I like that they didn't have a menu but I am not the biggest food person so it might be alittle hard for me to come up with dishes. When you went there did they have a list of sample menus that other brides might have used.
I loved it so much I am going to call Michael tomorrow and see if I can bring my mom and sister there tomorrow.
Any help at all about Royalton would be great.
Thanks so much.
So excited about Royalton!!!!

Re: ROYALTON BRIDES
They do have some sample menus there from weddings... I was uneasy with this also, until I met with Tito, he was rattling off possible dishes off the top of his head.. I've heard great things about their food so don't be worried! All of the guys there are great, but I would recommend meeting with Tito.. he gave us a great deal.
