Re: Royalton Brides....

Sure! I'm planning on calling soon about that cause I also want to ask about getting ready there. I'm torn about whether to get ready there or at home.... we're getting married in church so we would go there, get ready, go back to church and then back to Royalton but I dont know if there's enough room for everyone to get ready there!?

Re: Royalton Brides....

We're probably staying at the Royalton. We have rooms blocked at the LaQuinta Inn in Garden City. Right now we have their bridal suite blocked as well, just in case we decide we want to do that, it's an option. We like the idea of not having to drive at all, by staying at the Royalton. We live in Roslyn, so we really can't justify spending thousands on limos. I would definitely recommend LaQuinta for your bridal suite and afterparty/room blocks. Speak with Vanessa, and tell her I sent you! She is so nice and helpful. There's also the Roslyn Clairemont Hotel in Roslyn which is more upscale. The LaQuinta rooms are $159 with our room block. The Clairemont rooms are more like $275 and up, and they require you to fulfill at least 80% (8 of 10 rooms ) or you are accountable for unbooked rooms. At the LaQuinta and most hotels, the unbooked rooms are released back into the system 4 weeks prior to the wedding. I have some guests who will definitely be staying at the Clairemont, but I just didn't want to get stuck paying for any rooms. They also have a bridal suite. They weren't super helpful and were pretty snotty to me, but that was just my experience.

I read a review where the FH got ready there with all the guys.. and there was plenty of room. They also said how great of a time they had and there was a butler to serve them the whole time. You might even actually end up with more space then doing it at home. I wish I could get ready there... but it doesn't make sense for me... our church is in Queens. But FH is the GM are prolly going to get ready there. They have to drive out there to drop off their cars for the next day.

Re: Royalton Brides....

well the guys there (at the Royalton) were telling us that we can be getting ready there at the same time and we wont see each other at all- we will arrive first and they will leave first but we will all be able to enjoy the whole place all morning... I was just trying to figure out the parents suites!

I can't believe no one on the boards is ahead of me!!! Hopefully someone will come along! AHHH I can't be the first!! I'm still anxiously waiting for some more 08 pics from those lovely ladies! We actually had our tasting before we booked. Well, we booked immediately after dinner that night lol. I think Gerard said you have your tasting and pick your menus 8-12 weeks out. I called today to ask him a bunch of things about rentals (like plate chargers, cushion covers, etc.) and also tell him about the groom's cake. Some places charge plating fees for outside cakes, etc. and I hadn't asked that when we booked bc it's a surprise for FH. I really hope they're laid back about it. I guess I could always price out a cake with them, but I got a great quote and great service so far from Audrey's and I'd really like to go with them. He wasn't there today unfortunately, so I'll have to call tomorrow.

So are you getting a wedding cake from their baker? I just want to make sure I understand this correctly.. just the Grooms Cake is from an outside baker? I'm thinking I MIGHT do a grooms cake as a surprise as well, but I won't decide for sure until we are closer to the date.
Also, I kept asking about linens and stuff.. and all he ever told me was, 'we have so many colors, etc' but never showed me anything. So, I've been contemplating renting linens and stuff... but I didn't start hard core looking into it at all. Have you seen any of their linens? Is there a particular reason you are considering renting them?

If and when you get answers from him, can you pretty please share them with me? Thanks!

I spoke to Gerard about table cloths last June when I was booking. I think he said they have white, off white and taupe at the Royalton but they can rent any other linen colors without a prob. He didn't give me the impression they had lots of colors available free of charge. Just a heads up But maybe they have more now since the summer???

Also I'm getting married on 8/14/09 so please add me to the list!!

Have you guys seen the new Royalton website? I just noticed it the other day. It's a definite improvement over the way it used to look!

BCM2009 - i added you!

Also, he told me they had Royal Blue and other colors but he didn't show me anything and I really wanted to see them! I need to know if I have to start looking into renting linens and budgeting for that. Ugh! I kinda wanted to rent all that stuff.. but didn't want to have to pay for it at the same time.

Re: Royalton Brides....

Hey girls, I just had a party at the Royalton and it was unbelievable. None of you have anything to worry about. The food was incredible, the service was impecable and the place was beautiful. People called us for weeks after the party raving about everything.

You can see some pictures in my album. FM if you'd like to see more.

Now you girls have me thinking about chargers and chairs! LOL! How many people are all of you having? I know they say they can hold 275, but wouldn't that be a little tight? Especially if it rains during the cocktail hour?? Just wondering. I've been trying to keep my numbers down for that reason

I'm inviting 250 and hoping for no more than 220

On your invites did you girls put

Roslyn, New York
or
Roslyn Heights, New York

I just realized my proof just says Roslyn, is that a problem?

Mine says Roslyn as well. I think it's fine. I live in Roslyn Heights, and people send me things with Roslyn zip code all the time.

PS-Stacy I never thanked you for recommending Judi from A Bridal Paperie. She is so amazing, and I love my invites!! Thanks again!!!

Re: Royalton Brides....

On that subject, how did you guys write the name of the venue? We did The Royalton at Roslyn Country Club but I wasn't sure if I should've done just The Royalton or The Royalton Mansion.

How many guests are you girlies having?? It seems like my lists keeps growing and I'm getting scared

Re: Royalton Brides....

Our minimum is 165 so we're hoping for no more than 175 but we're inviting a little over 200. Doing the invite list has been pretty miserable.

I'm glad you liked her. I have sent about 5 other girls there from work as well. Everyone was really happy with her and her prices. I wonder if she'll cut me a deal on the calligraphy for giving her so much business :)

I put

The Royalton Mansion
Roslyn, New York
