Royalton feedback greatly appreciated

Original post by Dee606

I am so excited!! I just booked my reception location today at the Royalton. I knew that I had to get married there as soon as I saw it. It's beautiful. I would love any feedback about food, service, etc..
thanks

That is terrible that they did not tell you. For what it costs, the right thing to do was offer you extras...
My contract also says that I have it for the whole day but maybe I should ask to be sure.

For those of you who are doing an afternoon Royalton reception, where are you having your ceremony? I am having a difficult time with this because at first we were going to have everything done there but then I realized that the only time I will have to take pics is BEFORE the ceremony & I def want to follow the tradition of not seeing FH before the ceremony... Maybe I can ask them to move the ceremony from 12 to 11am & make cocktail hour 2 hours so we can run out & take photos ...
I would love any advice...
TIA

I need an immediate response from anyone who has had a wedding at the Roaylton.

I am having a minimum of 225 guest who love to dance and I am unsure if the dance floor can accommodate that many people.

I love the place and would like to book my wedding ASAP so PLEASE respond ASAP. Thanks so much.

I have not had my wedding there, but I was in contact with someone who had and they said I would have enough room for 230 people. I am inviting close to 300, so I had the same fears, but not really about the dance floor...that looks big enough...mine were more about the seating. Michael was great and set up the place for 220 people then had me come in to see how roomy it was. I have to tell you...it looked just as spacious for 220 people as it did for 150 people (when I first saw it set up). If you love it...book it!!!!

About the double events...

Well, Michael actually contacted me today because he saw my posting and saw how upset I was. He said that since my wedding is on a Friday, it is guaranteed in my contract that my wedding will be the only event that day. I am so relieved to hear that! I was definitely worried and I think it was really nice that he contacted me right away to make sure he put my mind at ease.

He did say for Saturday events it is not written in the contract because they do allow more than one party that day. Apparently they are very good about getting everyone from the earlier event out right away after their party is over, so that there is no interference with the next event.

Anyway, HABS, I am still very sorry to hear some of your plans may have been altered for your event. I am know I would be upset about this too, but I am sure you will have a FABULOUS wedding and you will be on such a high that day that you wont even notice there is another party going on!!!

Wait...it was in your contract and they went ahead and did this anyway???? How can that happen? How can they get away with that?
I am so worried now! We have not even planned a time yet, but he said for now he would put down 6:30PM and then we can always change it later because we have the place for the whole day anyway...I hope that is still the case! ONe of their main selling points is that the place is ours for the WHOLE DAY!
How did react when you were told this information?? BTW- I am so sorry to hear that, but I am sure you will have an AMAZING day anyway!!!!

We are going again on Wednesday for our tasting and we'll have the contract in hand. I didn't realize it was in writing too (I knew he had verbally told me). I'm so disappointed. At this point, there's nothing we can do, but if nothing else, I want to make sure we're compensated in some way. We'll see what happens on Wednesday.

We added it to our contract and it was signed. I'll be there tomorrow and I'm sure we'll discuss it.

O really...well that's not right!! I hope you are compensated...maybe now you can get a few things that you wanted but didnt want to spend the money on!
I hope you get it all straightened out! Let me know how everything goes!!!! And remember...no matter what, your wedding will be fabulous!!!

The food was delicious and it was all taken care of. It will be an amazing wedding and that's the most important part!

So, I found out yesterday that if you're doing your ceremonty at the Royalton, they do the rehearsal the day of the wedding. This seems a little strange to me. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Yes, I was told this & I asked them if I would be able to have it one night during the week when no weddings are booked & they said yes. You should find out. I hate the idea of the rehersal BEFORE the ceremony.

FYI..... almost every, if not all, reception halls have the rehearsal right before the ceremony.....

Good to know.

It just seems like it might make the day a bit more hectic, but I guess we'll have to deal with it.

We wouldn't be able to have our dinner any other night but the night before because we have people in our party coming from out of town.
