RP 07: How many pictures is your photographer guarenteeing?

and how many photographers did you hire to take them?

We used Glenmar, hired two photographers & only received 580 proofs...

I have not stopped crying since we got them back.

Look back at your contract and see if there was a number on there that they guaranteed. If so and you got less than that I would call and speak with them. I know on our contract it was written that we were guaranteed 1000. I'm sooo sorry you are so upset.

Leli Photography - there is no limit and he said every wedding is typically between 700 & 1000.

Oh Whoa - i am using Glenmar and the number of proofs will come up during our meeting - i only have one photographer

Our contract stated 500-1000 we got 814. To tell you the truth, I wish there was less because it so hard to pick!

How many were you guareenteed in your contract? Id figure out teh percentage and demand some of your money back. But are you happy with the ones you did get? Cus its also about quality, not quantity. Unless there was a high percentage you are not happy with- then quantity is also important.

Hey! Sorry I haven't been on and it's taken me a while to respond.

We had Cory & Jing from Glenmar.

There was no minimum photo amount written in the contract.

The lady I spoke with from Glenmar when we called stated to complain about the amount of photos taken said that they amount of pictures usually depends on what the guests are doing. I take offense to that. We had 165 guests, and they photogs were around for about 9 hours. There is no way there wasn't enough to shoot.

I figured out :
580 pictures
2 photographers =
about 290 pictures each

then we had them around from 3pm and the wedding ended at 12:30am. That's about 9 hours.
290/9 hours is
32.2 pictures per hour each

I feel like we got ripped off. what do you think?

I agree with Gina. If you love the pics they gave you, it's possible they already weeded out the ones they knew you wouldn't pick, ie, someone's eyes were closed, etc. My daughter and her DH received aver 1,000 but honestly some shots there are 3-6 of the same thing. She gets to pick 500 proofs.

They may have done some pre-selecting for you! Maybe ask if there are other pics they didn't give you?

Glenmar is doing my brithers wedding in MAy with 2 photogs. I am going to let him know what happened with you so he can call and ask about number of pics they will take. Sorry this happened to you.

Did you have a videographer too? When I booked Thomas Paul he didnt state the amount of proofs you get (but i think its between 600-1000), but he did say if i booked the video too he would take less pictures of the guests dancing since I will have it on video. Just a thought.

Mine doesn't have a guarantee, but doesn't limit anything. He said we will end up with about 700. Tha't more than enough for me..lol

Mine didn't guarantee a certain number but told me she ended up with about 650... that sounds like a good number to me.

I got married last July and used Glemar. We got about 1000 proofs and had 2 photographers. When we first got the proofs and were going through them, we noticed that there weren't any from out 1st dance. I went to Glenmar and got a CD with all the proofs on it. She said sometimes they miss a few pictures when printing them out. After going through all the proofs on CD we did find the rest of the proofs we were missing and some more.

Try calling them and asking if you could have a CD to look through.

580 sounds like a ton of pictures to me. We got 527 printed proofs, but we also got almost 2000 originals on disk. Did your photographer use digital? Maybe you can ask for the disk of everything that they shot?

I think we're getting 400 immediately, then we're getting an additional 1,000 a year afterwards. Or something like that.

Our photographer told us that he doesn't give us a guarenteed number of proofs. He just shoots until he feels that he has pictures of every part of our wedding. He said an average is around 800 per wedding.
We ended up with over 1500 proofs.
Sorry that you didn't get what you wanted. I am sure the pictures were beautiful though.
