Ok. I have a gyno appt on Saturday and I want to change my Birth Control Method. I am on the Patch right now!! I know I know it is horrible that is why I am getting off of it.
So the only one that I really dont want to use is Yaz since it is a low dosage I am nervous cause sorry if this is to much info but we do not use condoms and I am nervous it wont be strong enough (maybe I am being parinod)!!
OK so which one and why???
Loestrin 24 Orthro Tri Cyclen Orthro Tri Cyclen Low Yasmin The Ring
any others I just can't think (oh and not the shots)
TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!

im on Loestrin 24 fe which is low dose..regardless of what ppl will tell you, its NO less effective than other pills if you are taking it at the same time every day. if youre concerned about that, your doc wil say the same thing. i have been fine with it for about 7 mths now. first 3 mths are always tough, i wont lie to ya. i had breakthrough bleeding and some other side effects which all have basically passed by now. best part most ppl have their pd for less than 3 days, I barely get anything at all.

I am on Seasonique and I love it because its like a 90 day cycle or something, so you only get your period 4x a year

I've used the ring for the past 3 years and I love it. It's great because I only have to worry about it once a month.

I don't like BC and I think it is very bad for women's health! I've been on several and nothing was good for me! But out of all of the ones I had the ortho low was the least harmful one... XOXOXO Kitty

Why would you say that it's bad for a woman's health? What specifically are you referring to?

I've been on Yasmin for about 5 years...it's really been great. Hardly any side effects, and I literally have my . for 5 minutes!

This is my third month on Loestrin24, I like it......doesn't make me moody, didn't make me gain weight....I'll agree with Jess (Aug07) I have had break through bleeding every month for about 3 days at a time but my gyno told me this is normal for the first 3 months and to wait it out. When my period does actually come, I have it for 3 days exactly and it's like nothing (it's wonderful)

the low dosage pill does not mean it's any less effective, it just means a lower dose of hormone. I was on the patch too and loved it but got off b/c of all the bad press.
I have used Orth tri, Ortho tri LO and Loestrin all with success. I contemplated the ring but decided against it b/c it's too new and I was nervous that stuff would start popping up about it like with the patch.
Talk to your GYN and tell them your concerns. They can help you decide what you would be more comfortable with.
Good Luck!

Well I don't think you can speak for all women...my GYN put me on my BC pretty much for health reasons... and he knows my history so I'm sure if it was too bad I wouldn't be on it.

I am on ortho tricyclin and it has worked well for me. As long as I take it every day I don't have any side effects. Just a warning on it though, if I miss one and I take two at the same time, I get really really sick for a half a day or so.

I've been on ortho tri lo for 4 years and am doing great with it. Took about 5 months to get used to it and to regulate my cycle. My only side effect is melasma, so I have to be careful with the sun.

Yaz is about the same dosage as loestrin low and ortho low. I went on Yaz 3 months ago. The first 2 months were one heII of a roller coster!!! But that is the same with any BC. I like the lo dosage stuff just becaue you get a very light and 4 day period. GL with your choice, your gyno should be able to rec. something that you would be happy with. BTW I tried the ring once, it worked good but then one day I was cleaning under my bed and found it, guess it feel out after a romp w/ BF at the time! Didn't know about it till a couple of days later!

I've been on the ring for a year now and love it! I was nervous about it at first, because it wasn't a pill, but it's fantastic. I haven't noticed any side effects either.
