RP: Marriott Melville vs. Huntington Hilton

I am deciding on which hotel to use for my wedding. They are offering comparable rates. Neither hotel will include a shuttle or breakfast in the rate.

Has anyone/ Is anyone using either hotel? I am really confused at this point.

If possible, please let me know what your contract included in terms of bridal suite, breakfast, shuttle, etc.

not for a wedding, but we used the marriott melville for my sisters shower and they did a great job! the food was good and the service was great.

I didn't like the bridal suite in the Marriott. I don't know if that helps your decision.

I would go check out the rooms in both and see which ones you like better.

I am going to check them both out. I just hope they will work with me.

i prefer the huntington hilton. i don't like how marriot rooms are on display for everyone to look in. it's not like ur getting an ocean view from ur sliding door.

I was GOING to use them- my RH is in Huntington, too

Both hotels were pricey and kind of rude . They never called back when they said they would...

we stayed at the huntington hilton after my friends wedding and they paid the bar staff 'a few bucks' to stay open for the night...which made for a nice after party.

We picked the Huntington Hilton for a number of reasons--first of all, it was impossible to get in touch with the person at Marriott..if you can't get back to me initially, do you want my business? Secondly, the Hilton was very organized on a Saturday, with people in the office, when we went in.The place is very nice and clean, and seems to have their act together. The bridal suite is very nice (if you go with it, ask for the one on the second floor) and not off the main hallway as is with the 4 points sheraton (which also had an odor when we went)....the brunch and shuttle are not included, but are reasonable...we are doing the brunch tickets since we don't have a ton of OOTers and we can pay for whoever comes to tthe brunch only...FM if you want more info, but HTH...good luck! :)

Edited to say that on a Sunday night, the bar will be open late (about midnight, I believe, and yes, that's late for us..haha) which was another positive...no fuss, no muss, and afterparty!
