RP: Went to see Giorgios and Louis XVI

RP: Went to see Giorgios and Louis XVI

I went to check out both of these places and now I feel like I am more confused than ever. Both of them are beautiful.

Giogios was amazingly beautiful. The place was gorgeous on the inside. They had plenty of huge windows, chandeliers, a huge staircase...everything looked very elegant. From the room you can see a beautiful golf course and some gardens. It's really beautiful. However, I really wanted to be able to see water from my reception room. They do have their own private beach that they take you to for pictures, its VERY pretty..but you can't see it from your room. It's REALLY far out on long island. It's actually a very pretty area. You drive through a lot of fields to get there. They seemed to be really on the ball about things and they go on and on about how impressive their cocktail hour is. Actually, they are having a showcase with a complete cocktail hour on Nov 18th. I definatly want to go. I've heard nothing but great reviews about this place. If I could see the water from the reception room I most likely would be booking this place. I'm just still up in the air. I just wanted to add too that Gorgio, when me and my mother mentioned that we love chocolate, he gave us a whole box to take home. He was really nice. However, he didn't seem like he wanted to throw in anything or really work with us when I asked him about ice sculptures and wedding cakes, etc... A cake is included by they are pretty plain. He said they can do anything you want for more $$, of course! They also told me that they are buying a part of the golf course right next to them to add more gardens on to their property, it should be really pretty.

Louis XVI, is just how I imagined it would be. The room is like my dream come true. It's beautiful. There's special details everywhere. The ocean is just glistening through the room. It's picture-perfect. I absolutely love the windows and the mirrors. But, they don't seem to have many weddings and I can't find many reviews. It doesn't seem like they have an abundance of food like the other halls offer and I don't know how great their service will be. I wish so badly I could find more reviews on this place. If I felt confident that they had amazing food and service I would have booked this place immediatly. I do have to say that the man I met with was one of the sweetest people I have met. He spent so much time with us and told us we can change the menu anyway we want to accomodate us and our guests. It was more like talking to a friend than a businessman. He said anything that you invision is just a phone call away, we can make anything happen. He said your part is to dream it, once you tell us what you want, we can make it happen. He did give me an menu, but he said that they can make anything that I want and they like to customize it so its perfect your YOU and the wedding you had wanted. Which is great on one hand, but makes me a little unsure on the other. I'm just scared they aren't as experienced as other wedding halls, but I don't know that for sure..it's just something I'm coming up with beings theres not many reviews on here for it. But just going by how it looks, and how accomadating he makes it sounds..it's perfect.

I definatly recommend going to see both of these places. They truly are beautiful. I'm so confused!!!!!!!!!

If anyone has any more specific questions don't hesitate to ask.

xOx!!

ETA: If anyone has been to weddings at any of these places, especially Louis XVI, please FM me with any info. I would really, really appreciate it.

Louis XVI is amazing..my aunt got married there last year

the food is amazing and there was defiantly enough to go around! It doesn't feel like a typical wedding place!

Giorgios is awesome also though. My best friend is getting married there next year! The food is really good

My FSIL just got married at Giorgios over Columbus Day weekend.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the food was amazing!

I agree it is far out there but we made it into a weekend event, girls doing a spa Saturday while the boys golfed. Sunday was the wedding and the hotel had shuttle service to and from Giorgio's.

Everyone had a fabulous time.

While I have not been to a wedding at Louis XVI, I have eaten dinner there and based on that I am confident in telling you that both the food and service is top-notch. Giorigio's is beautiful as well. Good luck with your decision!

I know you already have my opinion on Louis XVI (we had spoke through FM)
As for Giorgios I've never been there but i've heard great things! A friend of mine is getting married there in April and I've seen pics and it looks just gorgeous...

I've been to a wedding at Louis XVI. The ceremony/cocktail hour was outside and it was really beautiful. My friend actually picked it because of the food....I don't think he had a seperate caterer (although I don't know) But we had this insanely long meal with course after course and it was all great. His wedding wasn't exactly typical though because there was no dancing or any of that- It was just us eating for 5 hours. But the place was beautiful...

I was considering doing something like that. He mentioned the free shuttle to and from Giorgios which was definately a plus!

I will also be a Giorgio's bride on Nov 22, 2008. We have taken the ride there a couple of times and each time I fall more and more in love with the place. They offer so much in their package that there is not much need to add on additional things. And Giorgio (the owner) is so honest and up front with you. He doesnt try to get you to add on unnecessary things. He told my fh and myself that there is so much already that it isnt worth spending the xtra money. From that point on I felt as though he is there to make it the best day of our lives and isnt in it to penny and dime us with whatever he can get out of us. Through all our visits and phone calls.....everyone that I have spoken to or dealt with in person is nothing but personable and friendly. Extremely accomodating!! Hope this novel helps!

From your post, it sounds like you are leaning towards Louis XVI. I haven't been to a wedding at either place but I just wanted to say that just b/c you don't see reviews of it on here doesn't really mean anything and it certainly isn't an attestation as to the quality of the place. When I started looking, my hall had like 2 reviews on here. Since then, it has grown exponentially.

In any event, I always like going to weddings at places I have never been before. I have heard great things about both places so you can't go wrong. Good luck in your decision!
