RSVP Date MEANS NOTHING

The RSVP date for my wedding invitations is tomorrow and I am still waiting for 20 responses. The thing that really pi$$es me off is that some of the missing ones are from immediate family members that I see at least once a week.

Yep. People don't rsvp. You're doing pretty well with only 20 outstanding. Lots of other brides on LIW have had more. Hang in there!

my deadline is tomorrow - missing 46 cards = 96 people!

It's ridiculous!

I know I am going to be really peeved when that happens - I don't understand it - I send my responses out within a week of getting them - probably because that is what I would want people to do for my wedding

I think immediate family just thinks you assume they are coming. My FMIL called and left a message the other day on our machine about how 'Carol and Phil' are coming but they haven't mailed in 'that little card thing' yet...because, well, 'you know how lazy Carol is!!' OK first of all...'little card thing'??? Seond of all, FMIL hasnt even sent her RSVP in!! SO...FH calls her and remind her we havent received her RSVP yet either and she got allllllll annoyed with us.

My wedding is a ways off so I haven't done the invitations yet, but I've thrown other family parties before and the immediate family is always the worst. They probably do assume you know they are coming, but should send in the RSVP anyway so you can easily keep tally on who's coming and who's not. I guess people just don't realize that they are putting a strain on you by not responding.
