Rsvp dates

My Fh and I were working on invites last night and neither of us has a clue as to when the rsvp by date should be, we were thinking a month before the wedding. Does anyone know??

Re: Rsvp dates

I was just looking this up in some wedding books. It is supposed to be about 2 weeks before the wedding date according to those books. I guess check in with your reception hall and see when you need to give them a final headcount...then make your rsvp date far enough in advance of that to get accurate numbers to them.

A month is probably fine. The Etiquette book I have says 3 weeks before the wedding date.

i sent out invites 2months before, and had the rsvp date for 1month before...it gave some time for the people who were late with their answers, doing last minute table rearrange-ing, place cards & all the 'fun' stuff lol. so i would definetly try to give urself more than 2weeks 1month worked out well for us! good lucK!

RSVP date 4-5 weeks before is perfect I think. No matter when you make it there'll still be a bunch of people who respond late anyway.... so give yourself enough time to track them all down.

we set our RSVP date for 1/15, and we're getting married 2/17. we figure a month is enough time, and we still have time to call those who didn't reply in time. i'd rather have more time to making seating charts, make calls to those who didn't rsvp, than rush at the last second.
