This wedding planning process has taught me a lot. Still, it's hard not to feel bad when people aren't 'into' your own wedding and the pre-wedding parties. Lots of friends now have kids and are so busy. I hate to keep score in my head how they went to everyone else's showers, Bach parties and weddings but I can't help it. It's been quite a lame turnout for the shower and Bach party which I didn't expect. Today I got 2 more NO RSVP's from friends and I cried. Lots of people are coming in general I should add. Perhaps I have high expectations and friends are busier now with kids but am I the only one feeling sad? I feel like nobody loves me! Yikes! I also feel very tired all the time. Could be stress getting the best of me. Need support. Thanks

I've also been getting very stressed out and VERY emotional, but it comes down to you and your fiance being happy with how the wedding turns out. I'm sure if your friends could be there they if would. On your wedding day you are going to be on cloud nine and probably won't realize that they aren't there. Relax and remember crying if only your bodys way of releasing stress in liquid from. Have a cry and when its over just start smiling and you will feel better.

Re: RSVP regrets
the reality is, unfortunately, in this day and age everything is expensive. to attend a wedding it costs a bit of money and while i dont have kids myself i have many friends who have declined invitations to weddings for the sheer cost: outfits, gift, babysitter. it can really add up!
i agree with the post above. at the end of the day those who are here matter the most. it certainly doesnt feel good when individuals respond no and i am CERTAIN i will feel the same way especially since we arent inviting everyone and their mother. chin up! really! those who you would DIE if they wouldnt be there, WILL BE!
im here to chat if you need anything!

Stress can add to it. I know its quite surprising when you get the NO. We have a couple that made us pause. You do learn who your real friends are through this process.

I'm sorry that you're upset. At least you will definitely have people there that love and support you.

Re: RSVP regrets
I know the feeling, I felt a bit dissapointed this past weekend, with the turn out at my bridal shower. Since that experience I have lowered my expectations for people. I dont want to be dissapointed on my wedding day.

I sympathize with you. Try not to take it personally. Don't let those people put a damper on your day either! Just take a deep breath and move forward.

Re: RSVP regrets
I totally sympathize. I know it's my wedding so nobody will be as excited as me but it still hurts when friends are too busy to seem to care.

OMGosh. I can relate completely. I see our weddings are only a week apart!. My shower was last week also and I feel so bad that I was disappointed. I think these pre-wedding parties serve a good purpose as I too will prep myself so I don't feel disappointed on my big day. So much goes into it and then poof, it's over so fast. Even registering the much awaited shower day with all the suspense. I am one to really get psyched so there's no room but down I suppose.
I agree, I know I am excited since it's my own wedding but it does **** when people are too busy to care it seems. Can't let myself go down that road though. Gotta look at what I have vs. don't have. Thanks for the support.

Re: RSVP regrets
I am in the same boat, through this wedding process you do realize a lot about whom your true friends and family are. Just hang in there, the people that want to be there will be, and thats all that matters Keep smiling!!!

Re: RSVP regrets
I just peaked at your engatement phots and I LOVE THEM. Made me all warm and teary almost. I pass by The Plaza everyday on my way to work. And I've been looking at those beautiful tulips wondering if anyone but me really sees and apprecieates them I'm so happy you had your pictures there. The other half is that my grandparent's spent their wedding night in the plaza. I lost my g'ma about 2 years ago and I can't get over it all!
As far as wedding related parties...i feel the same way. I go over and beyond for all my friends and now it's my turn and no one's to be found. Your not alone in your situation or feelings.

I totally agree. Wedding planning, for better or for worse, really shows you who your friends are. We've had some real disappointments recently with people who rsvp'd no, or people who switched to nos after they rsvp'ed. Just focus on who WILL be there and the people that no matter what, will stand by your side!

Re: RSVP regrets
I totally understand this. I actually am not going to a good college friend's wedding in May because I just can't afford to give her the gift that she deserves. So maybe it's a financial thing. I'm instead going to send a lesser gift but at least they won't have to pay for me and FH to come to the wedding. They place they're getting married at is $200++pp!

Re: RSVP regrets
at least you are sending something. I hardly got any gifts from my No's and one was a very good friend.
