So, yesterday was the RSVP date, and I totally understand that some people mail it back that day, which is perfectly fine. But, three of the four groomsmen did not respond yet, I know they are coming, but send back the card already! I got all of the bridesmaids cards with in days of sending them out (7 weeks ago), and they all had cute little notes on them too. But, here we stand, after the RSVP date and only 1/4 groomsmen responded. Shouldn't they be a little excited, or do guys just not understand? If they only knew how much excitement it brings me to go to the mailbox to find those little response cards.
Sorry ladies, I just needed to vent a little. It doesn't help that FH is on his bachelor party in Foxwoods right now. Thanks for listening!

Re: RSVP's...seriously people?
I love it how I had to ask FMIL to get her side of the family's butts in gear with replying. 'Oh, they all said that they're coming!' THEN MAIL THE FRAKKING CARDS BACK!!! Le sigh.
Do I accept a verbal 'yes' at this stage in the game (RSVP date is in June) from somebody who already misplaced their RSVP card, or say 'look again and mail it if you find it, but I'll count it'?

RSVPs have to be the most stressful part of the wedding IMO.. waiting and tracking down people..Its crazy.. So my wedding iis tommorow and last night I heard about 6 people who weren't coming.. Now this was through the grape vine.. They responded yes.. and well no tact at all.. MY father went crazy.. But luckliy called my hall today and actually got the money back.. Really didnt expect that!! So breathe and know that people arent the same well mannered as the rest of us.. And enjoy the time!!
Did the people who aren't coming actually (or finally) get in touch with you confirming that fact? God, I would REALLY hate it if somebody did that to me.

Re: RSVP's...seriously people?
I still don't get why some people think a verbal 'okay' is good enough. If you lost the card, fine. I'll take the verbal acceptance. But if you're in the 'we have until such-and-such a date' camp, that's just so silly. I return RSVP cards within 48 hours of receiving them, especially since I've probably known the date of your wedding for awhile.

I just made FH bother his invitees! There were only a few that I didn't get back but had to just go with the verbal RSVP - better than nothing I guess. No offense to the men, but it's totally a gender a thing!

Re: RSVP's...seriously people?
My RVSP date was April 20th and I am still missing 25 of them. I don't understand what is so hard about putting them in the mail. I just had my bachorlette party last weekend to and my bridesmaids told me that alot of people never RVSP to that either or said they were coming and never showed up. I just don't understand what is wrong with people, I understand times are tough but there is a thing called common curtisty.
